Believe me when I say this because I bought robot cleaner from them and received only 1 sw update (bug and fixes). They did not change or fix issues with buggy software its mapping etc., and customer service is almost impossible to reach without calling them.

These are actually VERY practical. The high-end ones like this actually do a good job of mopping the floors at the same time as vacuuming. Just set it on a schedule. All you have to worry about is filling up the water tank and emptying out the dirty water tank. And getting rid of the dust out of the container as well. There are some like the DreameBot that come with actualy water inlets and drain pipes so that it's basically fully automated.

All the modern ones have multi-floor support. It’ll store maps and layouts. Just take it to the next floor, push go, and it’ll return to its starting point when it’s done. :)

On my roborock the camera is pointed in the wall/charger when not in use. And when in use i make sure there's nothing it can see that it shouldn’t. The biggest issue for me is giving the app and vacuum access to the WiFi so I only let it use the guest network

I wish these things could use the advantages of a camera for obstacle avoidance while avoiding the disadvantages by e.g. being offline or accessible only via a very constrained channel like zigbee, so without general internet access.

Does it recognize and avoid Lego? If you are looking for video ideas, you could test lots of robot vacuums to see how well they do at that challenge. Right now, my impression is that all will do badly, except for maybe big pieces and Duplo, but in 5 years not gobbling Lego will probably be standard.

@@ATDistinction There is a huge range of different sizes of Lego piece, so arguably the question should not be "Does it avoid lego?" but "How large does a Lego piece have to be before a given robot detects it?". Do you have an an idea of what that threshold is for the X2 Omni?

I have a Neato D7 from 2018 that is square and they had previous models older than mine so the shape is nothing new nor revolutionary. The dual option of moping and vacuum as well as the auto cleaning feature is nice though.

Here is some REAL feedback, I've had this one since day 1 (21st Sep)... The issue: Maps is junk, 1 siri shortcut "Clean", Cat hair pickup on carpet extra junk, the bot also sucks at getting out of SUPER easy locations, cant edit carpet size or location, Yiko is poor hearing the Australian accent, their customer service is poor, the app constantly times our or freezes. Honestly, im waiting for an RA I requested to return. They should help their customers beforr pushing so hard. PS, go get the Roborock Q Rivo. Oh and wont resume unfinished cleaning even when back to 100%

How do these things handle cleaning behind furniture, like sofas, where there's not much room? Are they able to do do that, or do you still have to do some manual vacuuming?

Really good. That’s why I mostly like them. They don’t completely alleviate the need to clean with a proper vacuum, but they spread out the time between having to do it and they reach places that a regular vac doesn’t tend to get well.
