Lovely fly water and nice to see fairly clear water, as opposed to the chocolate milk you normally fish. 😁 Keep the bushy flies for summer and stick to larval patterns in cold weather. Our brown trout season in Scotland is shut from 6th October to 15th March however. I'll use 'buzzers' from the season opening in March till May/June then move onto Soldier Palmer/bushy style patterns on surface. Try fishing down and across the river in summer allowing the rivers carry and mends to dictate speed, with an Invitca say. If you don't currently tie your own flys then learn to do so. Easy enough to do. Means so much to use and catch with your own flies. Great vid tho thanks. Oh...get rid of that bloody bobbin. Bobbins increase your chance of casting knots and add unwanted weight. Keep it simple. Gees I'm full of it tonight! Lol

A few things: Why do you use a float when you're flyfishing? Scud flies can imitate a lot of things, it's almost a general purpose fly. Like a gold ribbed hares ear, another great fly. When you're out in the current, flyfishing, kick around in the bottom. That will release nymphs and scuds and other things the fish likes to eat. Then fish your fly in the path of the current, or near it. Let it be swept in by the water.
@darkiee694 жыл бұрын
@Rana King What I use for those is just some grease on the tippet. It keeps the fly hanging just below the surface and gives me a strike indicator.
