I don’t think anybody would consider that to be ‘cheating, of course, rather, it would’ve helped the many newcomers to your channel understand the importance of, and dedication to, your ever-popular ‘catchphrase’, “See ya later, buddy...!” ...No wonder my wife thinks I have too much time on my hands...lol Postscript: Mr. 618 Nicolas, thank you, for I feel a bit more than a little honored that you chose to respond to me directly. When you’re using the fly rod try not to push your arm forward at the end. Let your wrist snap the line forward and keep your arm still, it’ll make your line lay out straight and will help prevent some of those tangles as well as being more accurate

Lovely fly water and nice to see fairly clear water, as opposed to the chocolate milk you normally fish. 😁 Keep the bushy flies for summer and stick to larval patterns in cold weather. Our brown trout season in Scotland is shut from 6th October to 15th March however. I'll use 'buzzers' from the season opening in March till May/June then move onto Soldier Palmer/bushy style patterns on surface. Try fishing down and across the river in summer allowing the rivers carry and mends to dictate speed, with an Invitca say. If you don't currently tie your own flys then learn to do so. Easy enough to do. Means so much to use and catch with your own flies. Great vid tho thanks. Oh...get rid of that bloody bobbin. Bobbins increase your chance of casting knots and add unwanted weight. Keep it simple. Gees I'm full of it tonight! Lol

Fly fishing for trout is the best! May I offer a tip? Just use a stimulator as an indicator, and then a dropper such as the scud, and you won't need a strike indicator. Will make your life a lot easier. The more attachments on a fly line/tippet, the harder it is to cast. Loving your channel.

Here in central Pennsylvania our streams are loaded up with rainbows brook and browns every year. It’s usually fun to go out but this year all the streams are full of ppl because of covid19. There’s really nothing left to do but fish here. It’s nothing to go out and get a few of each species on any given day ranging from about 7inches to 20 inches. My biggest brown was in an unstocked stream. It was 22inches with hoooked jaw. It was awesome.

A few things: Why do you use a float when you're flyfishing? Scud flies can imitate a lot of things, it's almost a general purpose fly. Like a gold ribbed hares ear, another great fly. When you're out in the current, flyfishing, kick around in the bottom. That will release nymphs and scuds and other things the fish likes to eat. Then fish your fly in the path of the current, or near it. Let it be swept in by the water.

@Rana King What I use for those is just some grease on the tippet. It keeps the fly hanging just below the surface and gives me a strike indicator.

I would personally be fishing the scud under the float (in moving water) and swinging/stripping the bugger.

Just a tip when using multiple flys on a dropper rig you will want to put the larger heavier fly on the bottom it will reduce the amount of tangles you get
