My dad took me to see a 104 fly back when I was a kid……talk about a roar!! I can still hear it and it amazed me. Nice memories.

I don't know what standard you hold yourself to but its absolutely beautiful. After viewing the photos I know nobody is ever gonna look at that model with a microscope for the purpose of picking out imperfections. You're a great inspiration because you stuck with it. Great solutions to the problems that netted great results. Thoroughly enjoy watching and learning from you. Thank you for sharing.

Dear Sir, first of all congratulations for the super realization of an Italaeri kit that does not always represent a splendid adventure. Here in Italy the company has only in recent years created noteworthy kits (see the 1/32 scale Tornado models, which represent an absolute top of the range). For the rest the Italian company has always proposed models that are economically accessible but that without taking anything away from the manufacturer in terms of quality are not counted among the absolute best. I imagine you are a professional model maker (unthinkable that a weekend model maker makes hundreds of models) who always arouses curiosity because although characterized by experience, with the humility of a novice person you always approach a creation in a different way, trying with your descriptions to trace a path also for those who in the future want to face the same experience. I like your friendliness, your skill in your passion/work, which already at the beginning sees the model realized. Regarding the refined way of painting a model I consider you extremely good. I remember models you made such as the B 25, the F 105 an extraordinary FW 190... It is not common to hear in the professional modeling sector reporting some errors, even if slight, committed during the work. This does you credit. With esteem and sympathy. Congratulations, Sean. Challenging kits can drain the modelling mojo but overcoming problems boosts the rewards. Managed to achieve the results I was after with a Kinetic 1/24 P-47 Razorback kit and a 1/18 Hobby Boss FW190A5, (sprue part version of the Merit toy plane) taking a year of modifying/correcting Most of the effort spent on outer surface refinements and from that new techniques gained.

Beautiful job. this really helps me. I'm doing a historic 1/48 thunderbird collection. f-84g and f. f-100 ,f-4e , t-38 , f-16a and b. and a f-35 just for fun. All in flight on stands. no weapons or wheels to deal with. The first 3 are bare metal finish. I have the gx2 and the ak duraluminum . building them all up first in age order. Working on the hun now. Waiting to paint all at once when the weather is warm enough to open the window. Then the decal madness! I also learned the hard way not to buy t-bird kits. Get good kits and get aftermarket decals. Except for the tamiya f-84g, strip the chrome off though. and revell f-84 f. Thanks!
@seanerk5kt92 сағат бұрын
@@drew9808 I thought about doing the same. Love the thunderbirds. I use to go watch them as a kid at Scott Airforce Base in Illinois. I built the Tamiya f-16 thunderbird and yes, those decals sucked lol.

Hi, Your build really looks great👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 About the panel lines, it's a shame, I actually didn't realize until you mentioned it. You can't really do anything about it, some nuts would probably putty and re-scribe everything but I know that I wouldn't. I knew that it is a big plane but I didn't realize how big😮. I have this kit in JADSF version and it would probably work better (or Vietnam camo) with the mat paint (for the panel lines) but I really love the polished aluminum USAF look. About the 1/48, perhaps the paint didn't age well, metal paints are fragile and subject to some kind of oxidation, but it still looks good, just a bit dirty like it's coming back from a mission😊. This plane deserves a brand new kit. Thank you for sharing and I can't wait for the next build.👋🏻

I would say this as it relates to the wide panel lines, you don't have to use panel liner liquids of any kind. Still well done.
@baanibarnes97119 сағат бұрын
Panel lines seem to be a thing with Italeri, I am currently building their Short Stirling, the best kit of this bomber available currently and the panel lines are waaaaay too big for the scale. The overall shape, fit and rivet detail is okay for me but those panel lines . . . I also have the Italeri Sunderland MKI/II, same issue, I would rather have the inscribed lines than not but it would be nice if Italeri listened to commentators like yourself and take on board the feedback for better results in future kits. PS: I will be putting a dark wash into my panel lines - fingers crossed!! Your model looks great, well worth your patience and perseverance.
