That's wild. The Indians have been living in the postseason, but no ring to show. Picc your poison
@terminator69506 ай бұрын
@itzsummagic There is a simple reason for their lack of postseason appearances; before 1969, only the top TWO teams from each league would play in the World Series, best record in the American League, versus best record in the National League. No Wild Card round, no Division Series (which wasn’t even introduced until 1995). The League Championship Series wasn’t introduced until 1969, and the White Sox weren’t good during that time. (Tommy John and Wilbur Wood, were the stars). The White Sox won five pennants before 1920. Then, after the Black Sox scandal, the team cratered to last place. From about 1920 to the end of 1950s, they were constantly in the bottom half of the American League for years. Ted Lyons, Luis Aparicio, Luke Appling, Jimmy Pierce, Minnie Minoso, and Nellie Fox were some of the only good players on the Pale Hose (a team, nickname they had) squad during that time span. They won the pennant in 1959, but lost in six games to the Dodgers. They made it to the AL pennant just twice after that (1983 and 1993 [got absolutely caved in by Baltimore in ‘83. And put up a fight against Toronto in ‘93, but lost in six games]), before they ended their 88 year World Series drought in 2005.

To be fair, baseball didn't really have a postseason until 1969. The "postseason" prior was just the American & National League teams that had the best regular season record and played in the World Series. So that 40-year stretch is applicable to almost every team not named the Yankees, Dodgers, Giants, etc. Postseason streaks should really only be measured from 1969 onward.
@snerdterguson7 ай бұрын
No, it should be counted for as long as there has been a postseason, regardless of how long it goes. Because otherwise, should we really count 1969- the wild card era? Or should the wild card era be counted now that we are in the nearly half the league gets in era?

2:45 The "imaginary pickoff" was a botched appeal play. Duran missed first before he reached third on an error, but an appeal play has to be made before the next play or pitch. Knowing that, Duran attempts to steal home on the appeal play attempt, because if he scores before the first baseman gets the throw, the "next play" after him missing first base would be him stealing home, which nullifies Chicago's window of opportunity to make the appeal play. Of course it ended up being a moot point since the White Sox botched the appeal attempt too, but it wasn't a stupid play, just awful execution. 😂

I started listing guys but there are simply too many. Even productive players like Moncada, Abreu, Grandal, Robert, Eloy over the past few years haven't matched their abilities. I'm sure the A's are loving this; the Sox have become the new doormat laughing stock of Baseball.

"They made the postseason in 2020 but who cares"? Still switching between "2020 was vaild" (when counting Astros successive postseason appearances) and "2020 was fake" (anything else), I see... And why was the 2005 series forgettable? The White Sox won it in 4 games - is that why? That was a massive hurricane year and some of us affected by it were happy to have pretty good baseball to watch.

2020 isn't as valid for any team, not sure what the Astros have to do with it. And look it up. It's pretty much the most forgotten World Series in the last like 20 year. Tigers-Cards the next year rivals it

2020 wasn't a real season

@@iTalkStudios It's a shame too, but you are right. Sox beat Clements, Pettite, Oswald etc in a sweep. There were some great moments, but the Sox pitching was just so dominant. The next year was crazy because the Tigers probably lost the series on pitching fielding errors. I loved those two years!

Probably was “forgettable” only because none of the East Coast or LA teams were in the WS and the ratings were ass because of that

It feels like once your team has a bad record, their fan base wants the owner to sell.

2:45 This is taken severely out of context. They were making an appeal to first base on the prior play. The runner clearly knew this was going to happen and started running the second the pitcher moved. Still, throwing away an appeal throw like that is pretty laughable.

Every/any time you bring up the 2020 World Series, I can feel the shade. . We took him g, “that’s just the way it is. Things will never be the same.”

Hey; you beat the Cardinals at Busch. You took 2 out of 3 against us 😂 It’s also funny because Crochet, Fedde, and Thorpe are great pitchers, and they have a few great prospects too.

It truly is a miserable experience. Born and raised into it though, I’ll never root for another team

The whitesox just beat my team twice and they have the most exciting power hitter in the league(Robert). Seriously watch the home run derby he was hitting 122 mph

The white Sox are one of the teams in a handful I wouldn’t mind see win. I just feel bad for them and their fans. I’m a Phillies fan so I know what consistent losing feels like

My favorite stat about the White Sox this is season is the Reds scored more runs in the 3 games series @ Chicago than the Sox did @ home to that point in the season.

Man, it seems like the White Sox have no salvation, you would think that with last season's disaster there would be some changes, but I was wrong.

Excuse me? Have you seen the 2005 playoffs and World Series? Or are you just going on East Coast bias? Watch the games and get back to us.

and i thought the A's and the marlins are bad. this is terrible. i wouldn't be caught wearing a white sox shirt. of course, i'm a braves fan but i've now come to the realization that we're not going to the world series after losing ronald acuna to injury.
