For those really looking to dive into MCSA, specifically Server 2016 Administration, you can grab a free copy of VMWarePlayer, ESXi, Virtual Box, or Even Use Hyper-V in Windows 10 to virtualize an Active Directory Home Lab to practice on. Even though you may lack experience like I do, it is important to get your hands dirty and dive into learning this stuff. Reading books alone and watching videos is NOT enough! There are lots of resources online about building a home lab for different purposes. Check a few of them out here: johnkeen.tech/windows-server-2016-001-active-directory-lab-setup/ www.psattack.com/series/building-an-active-directory-lab/ www.tactig.com/category/servers/mcsa/

I.T. Career Questions Thanks! I’ve had the greatest success so far using Any of the VMWare flavors of hyper visors. Hyper V and Virtual box are trickier to deal with especially on the networking side of things. Say for example if you wanted to do some VLANs and trunking, or Penetration testing

for the MCSA: Cloud Platform, you can complete any 2 of the 4 exams in that list to be MCSA certified, and 1 more to earn MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructures
@TheComputerTechJason6 жыл бұрын
This video is out of date now. The MCSE cloud platform has been retired(12/31) and is now called MCSE Core infastructure. Once MCSA is acquired, can take one of the MCSE electives to become an MCSE. See here www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/mcse-core-infrastructure.aspx . I know this because this is my track, got MCSA 2016 last year(3 test) and just took the 70-744(one of the electives) and am now an MCSE.

I do, i plan on doing MCSA Server 2016. I believe there are 3 modules, yes? altho i can juts do the Server 2012, since that`s what we use here, and i really don`t see them migrate to 2016 anytime soon, i`ll still do the 2016.

As far as I can tell, MCSD is limited to a single focus: App Development. Everything else maxes out at MCSE. Is this consistent with your understanding?

Can you make a video about the new Microsoft certifications as the MCSA : windows 10 is now retired
@TangomanX20085 жыл бұрын
I have to disagree with your point about getting the CCNA first instead of the MCSA. The supporting details you gave is true. Including the fact that it is much easier to self study for the MCSA by using virtual box and installing server on it (Although this advantage is not as big as it sounds since with Cisco you can download Packet Tracer). However, the problem with your advice is that the MCSA has this going for it. Most people will start out as Help Desk. You will have more opportunities to apply your MCSA skills directly (although gradually, this will start with minor tasks involving some version of Windows server, like AD Account Password resets). Nobody is going to ask a level 1 Help Desk technician to log into a Cisco Switch or router and change the IP address of an interface. Why is this important,? Most CCNA level jobs will require some sort of Cisco experience. The same true is with any job that truly makes use of your MCSA. But because you are far more likely to have some soft of experience related to your MCSA than your CCNA, you are far more likely to advance by taking the MCSA route.
@kidcanibus5 жыл бұрын
TangomanX2008 so does that mean that you don’t even bother taking the Ccna if you’re a level 1 help desk guy? Just stick with the mcsa and afterwards study cloud administration?

Which gets me a good paying job where I work from home?
@DJ2396 жыл бұрын
omg there's so many of them, what do people do? Do they just choose the one that interests them the most and then try to get a job in that cert category? Or do they pick one based on what their current company needs?
@Itcareerquestions6 жыл бұрын
You pretty much answered your own question. If your company is paying for it and they are looking specific then that's what you'll get. If you are going out on your own you should pick the most relevant to your needs and desires.

Can you really get a job with the MCSA Linux on Azure? I normally see active directory stuff in job listings. I would assume MCSA 2012 or 2016 being the most valuable along with MCSA Cloud.

Yeah you definitely can. If you are in an environment that is very Linux heavy they are either already in the cloud or looking to go into the cloud.

@harian29594 жыл бұрын
Pertaining to your question about the MCSA, the thing is with it retiring on Jan 30 you won’t be able to earn it after that date. However, if you earn it before the retire date, it doesn’t expire

MCSA: Whew! Looking at all of these MCSA certs (sorry for mentioning it again😜), makes me glad Microsoft is rolled them out towards retirement for more role based, similar to Cisco.😬 Geez!😅 The one with 4, I believe related to Cloud, was 🍌🍌🍌🍌. I would just combine them all into one and call them (Microsoft) Azure if they hadn't already. It makes for easier management to say the least.😁
