As someone in my late 40s and have dated mostly younger guys with age gap between 10 - 15, i've also been at the receiving end of many unsolicited nasty comments from close friends. Been called a paedophile, nanny, sugar mummy, desperate etc. Some even suggested that the younger men were interested only coz they were looking for short term fun, and could get laid without risk of unwanted pregnancy. These comments used to hurt, a lot, esp coming from close friends. I've learned since to keep my private life, absolutely private.

Even then the ladies just picked up the tabs, as the waiter just approached me to again the gender bias. Clearly, this isn't a rich or poor issue more than a gender issue as to what most podcast over the world are skewing towards. I prefer the to each their own bank accounts and contribute where they feel like its best to help each other grow ideal. Its tiring to put social norms to everything, I`ll be the house husband, and i`ll tell my kids OF paid for your diapers. So be it. To change my lifestyle to fit in your higher bracket is damn scary to know that if I get accustomed to it then that would also mean I may become reliant on your money. That's scary leh. What if one day I can't protect you and you made a foolish decision on money that I can never fanthom even having. 😂😂😂 I don't think its a gender issue... 🙄 How a poorer person uses money goes through more channels of thought. It is damn stressful to see how you casually spend $40 on something I wont care about while I try to save every bit I have to get something useful for myself.

However, my family and friends also like listening to him so I’ve learned to take many steps back, lose the control and be okay with momentary silences while he takes his time to reply. Usually he will reply and not need my help, only occasionally :) it’ll just be slightly slower paced lor, and he won’t elaborate too much unless probed further by host

I know this Post is from a year ago but if I knew now what I didn't know then, and understood the complications of being younger than my wife. I would have not made the decision to get involved in the long term. I haven't had any intimacy on over 3 years. She asked me the other day if she should be concerned about me being involved with another woman. Repeatedly being shut off and berated by the way I do things and not seeing any interest in intimacy like she used to be, turned me off in so many ways. After many years of therapy, it has been a very mundane relationship. Excitement comes from outside the relationship. Married almost 30 years. I wish you all the best.

There's one element that was not even brought up which I think is an important matter to consider, if the man is dating a much older woman - childbearing. I know of a person who had reservations about settling down with an older woman bcos she was almost past her childbearing age. When it comes to offspring, it will definitely involve getting opinions/blessings of both parents, whether they are okay without grandchildren. Regardless of how advance technology is, somehow the guy has to be ready and willing to give up the option of having biological children or else this could be a 'thorn' in the relationship
@atatur1232 жыл бұрын
"When it comes to offspring, it will definitely involve getting opinions/blessings of both parents, whether they are okay without grandchildren." Respectfully, I need to disagree with you there. The couple's parents don't get to decide if their children want to have kids. Whatever the situation (grandkids or no grandkids), they're just going to have to make their peace with it. The decision is out of their hands. If they choose to antagonise the relationship for this reason (against the wishes of their adult children), then they're risking their children cutting them out of their lives. To your other point, I know of plenty of couples who don't want and are choosing to live childfree lives. Gone are the days where kids were a must for a "happy stable family". I also know that "egg freezing" has become more and more popular. A few of my single female friends have done that (once they got close to a certain age). That + surrogacy means you're really not on nature's clock anymore. The obstacle is the high cost, more than anything else.

@@SXLEOPARDSKINNED I mean it in a respectful way, with cub, cougar, sugar daddy and sugar baby used to describe a may-september romance. @@GiGiSchnapps Then why is it in older men/younger women romances, the focus is still on the potential predator?
@GiGiSchnapps2 жыл бұрын
@@Fakeslimshady not in all cases. In recent years theres been a rise in discussion surrounding the sugar baby and why she chooses to be that. Also, if you noticed, the terminology used for older women/younger men relationship (aka calling the women "cougar"), also paints these women as predatory, so I don't really think its excluaive to either gender. In my opinion, the older of the two is usually viewed as predatory due to the percieved imbalance of power dynamics with one being much older and usually seens to be of authority and dominance over the other.

As a 42 YO woman, all I can say is that, contrary to these people in the video, I'm more of an "equal parternship" and do not expect the man to take care of everything financially (especially if he's younger). If I can see that my -potentially future- partner has drive, is serious about his ambitions and works towards them then I'll feel open to a relationship with him. I wouldn't even be interested in a man my own age if the guy had no ambition at all. It's really a matter of character and if you're putting action into your words.
