Tapping amd pull-offs are how he was doing that. Mostly tapping, but the occasional pull-offs generate the energy in the strings to resonate the notes.

5:08 That is Michael Angelo Batio's new signature guitar. It went on sale recently for a limited run, which means Dooo has only had that guitar for a couple months at the most. Michael used to play with 2 (and even 4) guitars back in the 80s and 90s. (and he still does) And yes you were right, he was tapping it( its a technique called Hammer-on )

First off: In over 15 years now on YT I maybe wrote 5-10 comments and also never liked or subscribed to reaction channel. But your reactions (to thedooo) are so absolutely honest... Mark it as completed now... neverthought i would tbh... In terms of musical terminology: To make a sound on an electric guitar, the strings only have to move, there is no need for a strumm (using the finger or plectrum to get it moving) like when playing an acoustic guitar. The strings are made out of metal and the things unter the strings are called pickups. The pickups have a magnetic field and catch the movement of the strings and convert them into electronic signals. The Amplifier receives those and converts those into the sounds. To catch on the technique the user "Noob" mentioned: Tapping is when you press ur finger in a fret to make or manipulate a string. What he uses when playing with both guitars were so called hammer-ons and pull-offs. As they already induct, you hammer / tap the string and when lifting again you make them swing with a strong but minimalistic movement -> pull-off. In thedoo´s case, he uses it in a very extensive way which I can´t do after 20 years of electric guitar. Also, thedooo can pick-up the songs so fast because he has not just relative pitch, he has a perfect pitch. With relative pitch, you still need a reference note as guidance for the key. With perfect pitch, you hear a note and know it in an instant. With his knowledge of his fretboard, he exactly knows where to find the note and so he can copy it that fast. Adding to that, he also has an audiographic memory (like photographic memory, but for sounds), this is how he can just her 30-60 seconds and nearly copies it perfectly. Sorry for the long text and my bad english, I´m unfortunately not a native. But last thing i gotta say, I love your accent! BR, Paddy

There's a Guitarist that Plays a 2 AND a 4 Neck Guitar named "Michael Angelo Batio"!!!! For a Band that Plays "Symphonic Metal" you Must Check Out "NIGHTWISH" & for a Talented, SOLO Artist that LOOPS her Music LIVE, Check Out "Tash Sultana"!!! She is a Guitarist / Singer BUT Also Plays Brass and 7 Other Instruments!!! TRUST ME, you'll LOVE BOTH of these artists!!!

You can play one handed if you "pluck" or "slap*. It is very difficult to do though and playing two guitars at the same time is insane.

There's a guitarist who plays 2 guitars at once most of the time called Michael Angelo Batio! He is ambidextrous and can play left and right handed equally well!

I think he has a special/additional pick up, or some other device on his guitar to make the tap playing sound like that.
