I think that the demand (total accessible market) is pretty low for 2-seater non sports car vehicles and will not be a target market for Tesla. In the ride-hailing (cyber cab) sector, 83% of all rides are for 1or 2 occupants. This is why the cyber-cab is a 2-seater. No one will be able to compete, cheaper, lighter, less parts (only 2 doors), smaller battery, easier cleaning and so on. --- The low cost Model P will be a 4-seater.

I think without the tax incentives, the lowest model of Tesla needs to be starting from $27,990 even if it means that Tesla will only break even on the lowest trim of the lowest model. That way, Tesla fends off other upcoming competition as it shows would-be competitors that the smaller EV market is not a profitable market to enter. Then, Tesla can still have a small profits for all other upper trims of the lowest model.

I’ve never owned an EV before but I test drove the Model S yesterday and it needs a serious refresh especially compared to a Cubertruck or the new Model 3. There are a lot of lines in the interior of the car for taller people that make it difficult to see out of and the drivetrain compared to the Cybertruck is substandard. The Cybertruck is so much more smoother to drive than the jolting from the Model S.

Hey Kim love your content! Love it and watch every video! I did just want to say that I do disagree about the Free supercharging on the S. I think it will be good for people without charging installed that live in an apartment. also I think if you commute like 200+ miles a day for work this will be a good fit for you. I do know that the model S is more luxurious, but if you can afford it, and don't have home charging, I think this is a good deal. Especially if you plan to keep to car for 5+ years. Or on roadtrips. There are some positives to it. But always, love your content! Please keep it up!

My S was locked to 60 kwh pack, then when he dropped the price to 2800 ( CAD $2000 USD ) I wasn't thinking it was worth it, but my service guy said there is a firmware update and you get a speed boost. Best money I ever spent!!! So it wasn't 40kwh it was 60, and I unlocked to 75 KWH Still driving it 8 years from purchase ( Dec 2016)

I put a long range diesel fuel tank into my light truck and now my range is around 1300 kms now (800 miles). It means I can tow about 500 miles into a headwind in winter, or pick the best places to eat, or where I can get the best fuel price. I am sure a longer range in an EV would be more convenient with less need to use public chargers.

@@msj9097 Mostly Canada, Each make and style is different, it all depends on the build spec's, So you need to do research on each one, To be very simplistic a Volkswagen sold in South America may not be good in North America as it would not meet safety and emission standards. It can be done for sure, but is not as easy as buying it in Mexico and coming home.

Buying a car on Amazon sounds good. People hate legacy car dealers. You always feel cheated. Adapt, change or go bankrupt. Nokia and Kodak were once leaders in their industries but were slow to adapt to new technology. Legacy auto dealers are a nightmare for legacy auto makers. They gouged customers trying to buy electric vehicles. Legacy auto dealers abused their customers by adding market price adjustments to gouge their customers for EVs They added pricey add ons and other costs to pump up the prices and their profits. Tesla has the right idea. Buy online. No hassle. No sitting in a show room for hours. No salesman BS. No crazy markups. No I have to see my manager BS. With Tesla you can buy a vehicle in 5 minutes or less online. The dealers have no one to blame but themselves. The dealers are dragging the legacy auto makers down with them. The problem with legacy auto makers having slow sales leads back to the legacy auto dealers. They try to talk people out of buying and EV an want to put them in a gasoline car. Many people hate going to legacy car dealerships. Many people call them stealer ships for a reason. New car, used car or going in for repairs you always walk out feeling cheated. People have no sympathy for dealers.

Tesla did not offer the foundation series to all of the reservation holders. I was around number 250,000 on the list and I was never offered a foundation series. I was directly offered a regular CT. You miss the "800 pound elephant in the room" when it comes to Chinese EV's and that is the large subsidy the Chinese government gives it's EV manufacturers. The US can't fairly compete against that. It's not the quality of the Chinese made EV's but the extremely unfair pricing advantage that could devastate the US EV market.

Deutsche with the e pronounced is correct in German. Similar to Porsche with the e pronounced. The way we pronounce these proper nouns (deutschebank and Porsche) vary in English. I do normally hear deutschebank with the e pronounced in English whereas I normally don’t with Porsche.
