I don’t generally subscribe easily, but after your heart felt response to this and Elvis‘s song I subscribed. I know that the song how great thou Art live Rapid City 1977 is filmed two months prior to his death. Yes, he looks ill and yes, he does not look Like he did years before, but the performance will make you cry. Even if you don’t like Elvis, it is such a profound musical and emotional experience. You must react to it. I’ve loved Elvis since I’m a little girl and that was age 5, that’s 61 years ago. I’ll always love him. He’s my hero. He’s there when I’m depressed and down and he’s there always when the rest of the world sometimes isn’t. This performance of how great thou art in 1977 touches my soul so intensely. And to me he was as beautiful as he was in his youth because from that performance, I can see the pureness of his soul. God bless you young lady. Thank you for touching my heart as Elvis touched yours. I thank you. My granddaughter is sitting next to me watching it with me and she said you got a subscribe to her because I think she loves Elvis like we do thank you God bless.

This was from his live televised concert Aloha From Hawaii in 1973. 12 year old me was planted in front of our tv when it aired in the U.S. It was the first concert aired worldwide via satellite. They say more people watched this concert than watched the Moon Landing. A few opera singers said that Elvis could do what they did but they couldn't do what Elvis did. Elvis always said he was worried that people would forget him but here we are 47 years after his death and he's still gaining new fans. I don't think he needed to worry. 😊 By the way this concert was for charity.

Watch the documentary "Elvis: A Generous Heart" to learn about the other reason millions still love Elvis, which was his kind and generous heart, unprecedented generosity! My personal favorite performance of his is "If I Can Dream" from his' 68 comeback special (known as the white suit version), which was his tribute to the assassinated MLK whose famous speech for civil rights was titled "I Have a Dream." This was a charity concert for the Kui Lee Cancer Fund. It was expected to raise $25,000 & raised &75,000. Elvis bought his own ticket for $1,000. There was no set ticket price -- people paid what they felt was right. THAT RUNWAY from the STAGE: It was the genius of producer/director Marty Pasetta to have that runway built for Elvis. He told Parker (Elvis' manger) that he wanted to build a runway for Elvis to walk out onto & Parker said no. Pasetta explained that it would be 8 ft. wide & Elvis could stay in the middle or go to the left or to the right if he wanted to because Pasetta knew how important the audience was to Elvis, but Parker still said no. Fortunately, Pasetta was able to meet w-Elvis & he explained exactly what he told Parker. Fortunately again, Elvis overrode Parker & told Pasetta to build the runway. Pasetta told Elvis he wanted him to lose some weight & Elvis lost 25 lbs. Elvis then hugged Pasetta & said you are one of the few people who has been totally honest w-me. Without that runway he would not have had the opportunity to get in close touch w-the audience. Believe it or not, he did this song for his Rehearsal show w-a bit more oomph -- if you can believe it's possible.

They're not discovering Elvis. Most of these reaction videos are just people using Elvis songs to get clicks and likes and bring attention to themselves. They make dramatic faces like they're shocked at Elvis's talent. It's performative. If they get enough views, followers, etc by latching virtually onto Elvis's coat tails they might make a few bucks at some point, maybe enough to afford a trip to the beauty salon, this all increased when the Elvis movie came out. Don't be fooled. There is one girl on here who I think comes across as genuine, but most of these people are just engaging in performative content using other people's music to get attention. Well, people gotta eat I guess. :P

Your generation have missed out on such much in the music world. Elvis was once one of the biggest entertainers that walked this planet and is still as popular today. His voice was phenomenal / the swagger without the arrogance / good looking / stage presence was magnificent he held his audience captive he is sadly missed. losts of other entertainers in some way or other modled themselves on him. He came from a very poor background and shot to the dizzy heights of fame this did not come without the downfalls he had a manager that bled him dry. If only Elvis had sacked him back in the day he would have been around alot longer and managed himself (maybe) and toured the world like he wanted to. Everyone wanted a piece of him especially lots of adoring women. He could sing any song and make it his own bet he sing the chineese telephone directory and make it sound good. Take a look at his early days and films from jailhouse rock to viva Las Vegas (the dance moves) to his western films of Flaming Sar and Chiro he also wanted to be a serious actor. On the last note yes please react to More Elvis there is so much for you to see.
