Amazing that a gun so rusty, have nice clean leafspring still with bluing on, and no severe pitting in the metal. and rusty wood. Next time remember wood soaked for a long time goes very dark, almost black.

I have found soaking such rusted objects in a pail of diesel oil for a few days is very effective to loosen rust and free up moving parts.

First thing sorry about your loss I kissed mine a mouth or two ago and it stings a lot still so my condolences on your loss. Back to the guns and I agree there is a need for entry level pcp’s I’m getting on a bit and have only ever had springers but thanks to you two I want to have a go at the pcp guns and don’t want to spend a lot on one as to be honest I don’t know how much use I will get out of one but your enthusiasm is infectious so I’m going to start again and looking forward to it thanks guys keep it up.

I dont know why people are so upset about the rust and grime being "fake". They still use actual restoration techniques and it's satisfying to watch. That's the whole point. The transition from rusty to like new. Not if the way it got rusty is "real"

Не пойму зачем все ружья измазали в грязи, реставрация хорошая,но сомневаюсь что в стволах нет раковин,восстановить чтобы висела на стене как макет? Пистолет- воздушка вообще дерьмо,а мосинку жалко,можно было не портить,кстати недавно приобрел себе Иж-43, в неплохом состоянии,стволы как новые и нет шата, весной испытаю на утку.

Иж 40 уже переделан по 22lr. В начале разборки видно как боек самодельный выпал под кольцевое воспламенение. И ствол там уже расточен под 5.6 мм.

That was an upland hunting shotgun. Short barrels with sling lugs on the underside. Lots of commenters here questioning how the gun got muddy and rusty. They'd be surprised how many people lose guns out of a boat or canoe. lots of guns on the bottom in rapids. Happens frequently.
