Does anybody have any thoughts on the silver archer compared to the gold archer? What are the differences that you hear, and which do you prefer?

Ok, I gotta ask... what's up with the plaid background?

Where would the Archer ideally sit in the signal chain?? Last on the board or around the other overdrives??
@MrBingping8 жыл бұрын
Near the other drives. Where in relation to the other drives? Well that depends on how you plan to use it. As a drive, just about anywhere around the others. As a booster, you could put it either before or after your other drives. Before would add gain and compression to the pedals after it. Putting after your other drives would yield more of a volume boost. Going into a high headroom amp that is. If the amps already compressing then before or after doesn't really make a difference.

The other thing to note is that if you have any germanium fuzzes/drives, they should be the first pedal in your chain. So say you've got an OCD, a Tubescreamer, and a germanium fuzz, and you want to use the archer as a boost into your drives. The proper order would be Fuzz face>archer>Tubescreamer/OCD (in whichever order for those two) The reason being is that germanium transistors like to see the guitar signal unaffected.

A fine pedal right here... a question to the experienced players and pedal freaks....can’t the fulltone fulldrive 3 do most of this ? Thanks

Is that riff at the beginning a specific song?

it's American Dream Plan B by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers :)

Are you using reverb? If you are this isn't a true representation of how this thing sounds. Reverb allows its to breathe and thus sound more full than it actually is.
@rush279510 жыл бұрын
i think the point of these is to give the pedal the best sound possible, and i'm sure you have some reverb you can dial in
@alexmillar824210 жыл бұрын
Either that or in live settings youll have natural reverb from the room you are playing in, 9 times out of 10 most players use reverb. And nearly all demos of all pedals use reverb (obviously there are exceptions). Apart from anything else, if you think that with all of youtubes compression of audio quality you will still get a true representation of the pedals sound, you are very much mistaken. Never mind other variables like the amp, the guitar, pickups, speaker cab, mic...
@HouseofChains8110 жыл бұрын
All I'm saying is the reverb here doesn't sound "natural". It's obviously added on and that's not the point if I have reverb. A lot of people don't and this misleads them.
@ProGuitarShopDemos10 жыл бұрын
HouseofChains81 We've used a Fender Deluxe Reverb for recording over the last few years and sometimes we turn the reverb on. We also record with two mics, not to deceive but capture a bigger sound which closer matches how it would sound in person.
@HouseofChains8110 жыл бұрын
Thanks for clearing that up. I get the two mic thing but next time you should mention you have the reverb on. Just my opinion. That aside keep up the good work.

Having a baby. Sadly, it's not mine ;) A BETTER question to ask is: Is she coming back and will there be more awesome PGS Tone Report vids? Or have they been cut to drift?

First time seeing the inside of this pedal. Glad I did. Surface mount technology works for the company building and selling pedals but sucks ass for the end user. It's throw away technology and the end user can't repair or replace components. I wanted one of these to go with my Klon KTR, another SMT product. But I'll look elsewhere or build my own. I already had issues with the KTR having blown the charge pump diode. I was lucky to find a replacement at mouser after extensive research. I somehow managed to solder it in and get the pedal working again. I'll avoid this kind of construction at all cost in the future. Most probably won't care until it's time for a repair. Good luck.

Nicolas Rivera With the JHS mod -- ok, maybe, it sounds AS good. But off the shelf? Come on. I've A/B'd them and the Archer sounds identical to the original silver Klon.

To be fair i have not AB the Archer to the Soulfood, but i have the KLON and the SouldFood sound the same to me....so.
