@@seamuswbiggerarmalite3379 I believe he's talking about both liberal Catholicism(bascially whatever the bishops in Germany are trying to do), and the materialistic liberation theology that still has a lot of influence here in South America, in a way those two aren't really much indistinguishable from each other. The angel of death you mention isn't really widespread, it's pretty much a Mexico only thing and even there it's pretty much a marginal thing, and has basically always been officially denounced by the Church, moreso than any other folk saint in fact.

Some of the most badass Christians in history were vikings. King Sigurd I of Norway (also known as Sigurd "Jerusalem-farer") literally kickstarted the first crusade by supplying the military forces with men. Along his journey to Jerusalem, he raided and pillaged Muslim territories along the Mediterranean. And of course there was Harald Hardrata, the most badass viking in history, born a prince then became a mercenary, establishing the Varagian Guard, and later returning to take his throne of Norway. I pray one day the Scandavian countries return to their Catholic faith. They contribute such a unique flavor of culture to our faith.

He is buried in the floor of St Andrews and St Mary's Church in watton-stone Hertfordshire England an served under Edward the first. The longshanks. I cant find what he was knighted for. His heraldry consists of a cross argent with a star in the top left quadrant. He would have been the correct age to go with Edward on his crusade that was a part of a bigger. Perhaps the 9th crusade. My heart bursts for Europa today an it calls me to defend her. Christ is king. Love from Dixie.

It's four years after the pope's call We all pledged our will to join We have taken the cross We ride now to Jerusalem Anatolia and Syria are doused in Christian blood Antioch is now in the hand of Christ We fare past Acre and Bethlehem Jerusalem awaits our spears! The city rises up from the horizon Crusaders, we march onward! Surround the walls Blockade the city gates! Raymond and the Franks occupy Mount Zion And Saint Stephen's gate Godfrey charges the gate of flowers Tancred marches toward Jerusalem. Now we do battle against the Saracen! The fallen fallen lie atop the hot sand It matters not whether we return We fight for the triumph of the cross. Many believed all hope was lost; The land was barren and provided no food In heavy armor at the height of summer The desert brings death. Iftikar, the governor of Jerusalem, calls For the Egyptian army and ships Thousands of men march in the south Men of faint heart began to flee. Bishop Adhemar appeared to Peter the priest in a dream He bade the warrior embark on a pilgrimage Up the Mount of Olives Barefoot, we all went. Cruel exchanges gave way to prayers The Christians reconciled with one another We then felt a zealous strength from heaven Onward, men of Christ, to the field of heaven! From the sea, to our aid, A host of English warriors has come Along with men of Genoa They bring stone and wood. Three days of fierce battle ensued From mount Zion and upon the northern wall A missile shower fell day and night, and our catapults Broke down their defenses. Then Godfrey and the Lothringians sprang Over the bridge of the gate of flowers In a stream of swords, they seized the keep And drove the Saracens from the city. Godfrey was chosen to be king, but He wouldn't claim Jesus' crown, He was thus named defender of the Holy Sepulcher. Now to defend the city from the Egyptians The Vizier Al-Afdal himself is marching Godfrey now marches to war With Robert of Flanders Ten thousand Crusaders Brandished, early in the morning, Their swords on the fields of Ascalon The enemy saw poorly in the dark. Then, the men of Christ charged them With bows and swords under the sign of the cross The Saracens were panic stricken And driven out of the land. We have fulfilled our sacred oath The bells chime once again Atop the holy sepulcher of our Good Lord All glory be to God.

I have written such comment before on one of the videos on the channel but I will try to repeat it as it might be worth the check. Generally really like the theme and the quality of the songs on th channel a good adition that might be only away from the western perspective of the videos is a folk song from the Balkans played by Isihiq/Исихия "Tzarq Fruzhin/Царя Фружин". I think you might like it but I'm not sure the exact theme of the clips or effect you try to present but it should be very close to it.

I wish the Nordic lyrics were above English to watch both at the same time

I'm very much a Calvinistic Protestant at heart (minus the back and forth in my mind between Sola Scriptura and Prima Scriptura), but songs like this (coupled with arguments back and forth here and there) are leaving my thinking I might be more at home with the Lutherans (a sect that is *sort of* apostolic, given Luther's origins) and the Anglicans. If nothing else, I would probably consider the bishops of Rome, Antioch, Constantinople, Canterbury, etc. to be first among equals. That is as far as I would go, though. Apart from that, stuff like this makes me proud to be predominantly Anglo-Saxon, partly Scots-Irish, and about 10% Swedish. Please, pray for clarity on where to go from here.

Well, as a Prot of the Missionary sect, if you enjoy this kind of Norse music that isn’t all about pagan larping, then I highly recommend Skaldic Bard to you. He’s very talented in his art/craft.

Sola Scriptura is said no where in the Bible nor was it believed by any Christians before the 16th century

@@Juan-qu4oj It does not explicitly say Trinity either, so what's your point?
@Juan-qu4oj Жыл бұрын
@@coffeehousedialogue that you cannot exclusively use the Bible as the only authority and that Sola Scriptura is flawed despite what Protestants would tell you.

@@Juan-qu4oj That is not how the Reformers went about it, so again what is your point?

Are these lyrics composed in modern era by an enthusiast or do we have medieval source material because this is pretty cool & I want to find more if any are authentic
@SkaldBard Жыл бұрын
Sadly there are no (known) songs from that time, at least dealing with these kinds of topics, so they're my own creation. However, I either use outright or embellish genuine quotes from the sagas where possible in my songs to keep them as authentic as possible. As such, it's not a total "fabrication", so to speak.

Beautiful song, my only question is if it is a modern creation or it is an historical chant made at the times of the crusades like Palestinalied. Beautiful either way

@@SkaldBard The song certainly conveys the story pretty well, so good job there. It is a shame so few (relatively) remains from that era and it saddens me how much was lost to time, but here is hoping we can maintain the flame alive

Does KZbin demonetize all these videos for copyright or do they not because it's mostly religious/traditional songs?
@OrthoKarter Жыл бұрын
This video was a collab with “The scaldic bard” who (atleast i dont think) copyrights his work. its probably due to the fact that youtube is braindead and thinks any traditionalism in any form is “”hateful””
