Lovely, yet again. Hat tip to that unseen heroine, the bassoon player.

Direction magnifique. Les chanteurs sont somptueux sur cette partition redoutable. Un moment d'enthousiasme pour les trompettes et la longue portion de basson. A réécouter sans mesure. Merci Herr Kapelmeister !

20:12-20:38 MARVELOUS improvisational-bridge between verses in this chorale. When the full organ joins it really creates a wonderfully full conclusion. Very satisfying.

great performance, great trumpeter

I feel the promotion of side-hole trumpets as "the real thing" without acknowledging the compromise is somehow dishonest and sneaky. Any thoughts?

Bravo!! superb playing, emotion, and its just 'spot-on'

I don't get why there is two identical videos for this cantata. I know that Bach wrote it for trompete first for the Bass Aria then wrote it for violin thinking that the part was too hard for the trompete. But when compare the videos, they are from the same concert, they are visually the same. Can the people dealing with this YT site explain why there are two identical videos? *Edit:* Okay I've got it. This one has different camera angle that shows the trompete player, also you can hear it. But for the violin video, that scene doesn't exist also no trompete. But it's the same concert but the videos are edited differently. (Check out the differences starting right before the movement #7 (The Bass Aria) begins. @11:04

I'd love to know where you saw that Bach wrote music unplayable by trumpets. I know money to pay for first class trumpeters was always an issue.

@@AndrewMarks-jv6ti Okay, answering to a post written one year ago, the content of which you could easily find using Google. Whatever, first of all, in my comment I wrote "...Bach...then wrote it for violin thinking that the part was *too hard for the trompete* " In your comment you said "...music *unplayable* by trumpets" Here is one of the links ( www.bach-cantatas.com/BWV43-D5.htm ) that is along the line with what I said. In this article , Alfred Dürr, a musicologist, who also was the chief editor of the second edition of the complete works of Johann Sebastian Bach, was quoted, and the quotation reads "Cantata 43 was repeated (no date) with violin substituting for the high trumpet, says Alfred Dürr, perhaps due " *to the extreme difficulty of the trumpet part.* " " In this article, you can also find the original source; Dürr's book "Development of the Bach Cantata"

At 0:37 I definitely HEAR what sounds like a trumpet playing in unison with the oboes, but I can SEE that none of the trumpet players is playing. Odd

E' interessante ascoltare "Gott fähret auf mit Jauchzen" di Buxtehude, la sua Kirchenmusik andrebbe conosciuta perche' quasi sempre musica eccellente, BuxWV 33 prima di questa di JSBach

Typical image for every classical concert nowadays: -30 age performers and +60 audience. High quality music isn't appreciated by younger people in W Europe.

I saw people of all ages there and great music will always be appreciated by people of all ages . I believe anyway your appreciation of good music broadens as you get older , I know mine did . I've heard the odd Bach cantata on the radio but I'm delighted to have discovered this channel and see them performed live . Many thanks to Herr Lutz and his wonderful choir , orchestra and soloists .
