There is an arrangement of this sonata for sax and piano which I have already added to my repertoire. I love this piece. Bravo!

Kudos also to Jan De Winne and Andrea Restelli for making beautiful instruments.

Bach è Bach, non ci piove... che importa se la sonata è dubbia... Superbo il traversiere, superbo il cembalo... Restelli è un asso!!

This is done at early pitch (of which there are several). I played an F# matching the tonic note of G, and my F# is at modern pitch, A=440. I've had times to play with an early pitch keyboard while I played a modern instrument. That was wild. The keyboard played in D while I played in Db. And the keyboard played in C and I was in B. Keeps ya on your toes.

But I do respect musicians who adjust like that. That's musicianship, after all!

@@GoldinDr It's too bad a great many players can't easily play in all keys. Even in "country bands" if the band is backing a "name" singer, this famous singer might well want their song in a non-easy key. So many 'ordinary bands' playing at the local pubs would have a serious problem moving a song from G to Ab or from A to Bb. Oh my wouldn't they complain. Of course with a gadget like a capo I guess they'd pull it off.

@@micebones7544 Or what's harder is when the gap is not a full semitone, like adjusting from G to a "flattish" Ab, because that's no longer a matter of straightforward transposition; that's a matter of hearing and producing the right tone.

@@GoldinDr Oh yea...I used to have to play with this organ that was about A=428, a real challenge. I tried to do my best with an old pitch (415) recorder, but no, it was too flat. Then I decided to use a 440 recorder that was pulled out so far it was all out of tune with itself, + it was in the summer and the 85 degree heat made it worse. I'm trying to recall this from about 15 yrs ago. I think I made the best of it by playing in the key 1/2 tone higher with the 415 recorder pulled way out. A true adventure..as many fingerings as I could change, I changed. The music got played fairly well, but wow it was heavy lifting.

@@micebones7544 Was the gap more or less the same for each note, or were some sharper or flatter than others? That seems almost impossible to handle on a recorder, since there isn't very much you can do to adjust the pitch with your breath or lips.
