No music. No useless opinions. Smooth camera work. Just clearly explained instructions that anyone can follow. Thank you for these awesome videos.

Jim Selway Your photographic techniques were extremely well done. Your explanations were simple, clear in a pleasant, conversational tone. I am a Physics teacher, not a mechanic, but using your videos, I feel confident that I could do it. Great teaching videos. I am sure many people will enjoy them. The best video on car topics that I have ever seen. Obviously, a lot of energy invested. Thank you !!!

Thanks! I think this was the 5th version. I’ll have more to coming on how to setup tunerstudio and get an engine started. Then I may do a speed run on doing everything from wiring to tuning and getting it started just to show how fast it can be done. I’m still kicking around that idea though.

Love this! I'd love to hear your take on any batch fire limitations you hit. And am so on board with a speeduino setup!
@soullesssol72852 жыл бұрын
It’s totally a setup issue. If your injectors flow exactly the same and airflow is exactly the same batch fire will take you further. They are never exactly even and the variation is going to determine when you’d need sequential. Knock would be another factor cause some cylinders naturally run hotter than others. One way to tell is run egts on each cylinder. If you start getting big variations in temps it time to switch. I don’t think I’ll ever hit that limit on this car I’m guessing the 6-700whp range. I’m out of injector on this car and my main focus is moving towards my hatch build.

I really like your videos, I'm wiring up a microsquirt on a honda L15 motor that i installed in a 4 seat utv. Your video will help me tremendously since this is the only honda microsquirt wire up i can find. If you have any pointers please hit me up.

First things first see if your trigger wheel will work or if you can modify it to work. That will change a few things if it won’t work.
@richardehair-kz9np Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply, I sent the dyiautotune guys all my info on the L15 including the 60-2 trigger wheel that it uses. Theye said it will work, I just hope it reads all other sensors.

@@richardehair-kz9npthe only other thing I would be worried about is if your using the i-vtec engine. Not much support for that. If your using the other versions I think you’ll be fine. Pickup a shop manual for the car the engine came in and it’ll help you with sensor pinout ect. Usually I prefer the digital format cause you can search for specific wording like tps.

Thanks for the instructions bro. I’m now debating whether to make my Gen 2 trigger wheel 12-0 with single cam tooth or just go 12-1 on crank.
@soullesssol72852 жыл бұрын
I’d still go 12-1 crank and 1 on cam. I’d like to point out with this ecu you have no benefit on doing this. Cam signals are used to determine cylinder 1 for individual cylinder control, but since this ecu can’t do those functions its pointless. It’ll just make the system more complex with no gain. I would also like to point out I’m building another high hp j series with a speeduino that will do full cylinder control fuel and spark so I will run the cam sensor. So if that’s something you’d like to see let me know.

@@soullesssol7285 That would be awesome to see. Are you keeping it 1st geeration? I had to go 2nd generation on the RX-8 due to subframe interference (thinner timing belt and single belt crank pulley makes them about one inch shorter) mine is an 04-05 Acura TL (J32a3)

@@simplemods9828 I’m using a gen 1 on both. The ef we used a gen 1 engine with the gen 2 pulley. Slight modification of the plastic cover on it is needed. I think those motors have a slightly different crank sensor setup. Just so happens I have a j32a3 out of an 05 sitting in my garage. I’ll take a look at the crank setup and make sure this will work. If it’s a 3 wire crank sensor it may require another pull-up resistor from the hot to the signal wire. I’d need to look and see if it runs a 12v hot or 5v hot to that signal also.
@simplemods98282 жыл бұрын
@@soullesssol7285 It actually uses 2 fused sensors, 3 wires each an one on cam (kind of opposite to first generation). Would be awesome if you could cover these sensors in the next video. Gen 3 I believe is a little different with crank sensor on back side of oil pan reading a trigger wheel that’s on the crank close to the back of the engine.
@soullesssol72852 жыл бұрын
@@simplemods9828 I’ll see what I can do. I do have one at the house. I’ll just need to get the detailed wiring info. I believe they have 2 sensors for the crank. You’d only need to use one of those sensors. And you still wouldn’t need the cam sensor unless you use a speeduino or better ecu. I’ll check it out this weekend and see what I can find out.

I’m doing a j32a3 EG and it’s auto engine with manual trans but the trans has quite a few sensors on it, any info or advice on that ? 😅

Nope. Outside of keeping the factory ecu and wiring and using the micro as a piggy back if you’re trying to use it for a power adder.

What throttle body are you running for that cable throttle? Also this will also work on J32A3 right ?

I’ve use the cable tb, as far as the j32a3 I believe you have to grind every other tooth off the crank trigger from what others have told me.

@soullesssol72853 ай бұрын
@@RealWorldBuilds everything else should be the same. Your trigger angle maybe slightly different depending on which sensor you use. I believe that motor uses 2 crank sensors. You’ll only need one. I’d use the one and the same position as the j35a4. But I also believe the tdc mark on the pulley is on the back bank. I’d make a new mark on the front. It’ll make it easier zeroing out your timing. Which you should really only need to do once.
