great soundtrack...woulda been perfect for a "beatnik" movie.............whoever put this together got nearly everything wrong , as usual for "hip" movie attempts , but the old dirt track shots made it almost worth an hour down the tubes...................it's funny that in '60 i was caught up in bongo fever , L.O.L.

Isn't this the one that has a quasi-homosexual undertone to it? The script appears to make this look intentional. Nicholson gives one the distinct impression that he is far more interested in his best friend than one might expect. I think beginning in the late 50s through the 60s, filmmakers were really starting to explore this subject, dropping the stereotypical view of a Gay man as always effeminate. For example, films like Blackmail with Dirk Bogarde and The Leatherboys, a cheesy title that actually repudiates the seriousness of its subject matter.
