Now THAT's how you do a car chase scene!!! No green screen, no CGI bullshit. Just on-location and awesome stunts. And it's wide-screen. There's no unnecessary close-ups or shaky-cam. Because there's no need for all of that bells and whistles if you have a GOOD action scene in the first place

Tom Cruise funded about half of the chase scene. It would've ended after he stalled coming out of the tunnel but Tom told them to keep going and cut the production company a check after filming wrapped.

I love this car chase for just that reason! 😂 It's sloppy and seems more realistic because all he sees is the guy he's chasing. It's all petal to the metal. 😂😂 In reality they probably destroyed 10 of them just to get it right.

HustlerMitch ... There were nine of those cars used for the film. Eight got totaled and one survived. They gave it to Tom Cruise as a gift, because he did all of the driving and stunts by himself for the movie. My big brother had one when we were growing up, that was a great car.

yeah. if you watch the bloopers. they actually tried quite a few times to go over the bumps like the audi did, but the chevelle kept dropping the driveshaft out of the trans. i like that they had to slide it over sideways cause it made for a cooler scene.
