I’ve been watching your videos for a couple weeks and I’m reading Gin’s FFR book. I like your videos because you have such flexibility and I aspire to adopt your attitude toward food. I’m 75 and have tried about every diet around through the years and still battle excess weight. Wish me luck!

Hi. I’m new at this and really appreciate your sharing. I’m over 80 yrs old and know I’ll be healthier and live longer if I lose about 20 lbs. I’ve read Gin’s books and it makes so much sense. Thanks for adding your personal application and tips…and for ideas of how you have flexible windows. This will help me stick with fasting and I hope I can use a lot of common sense as I navigate the timings. I’m starting with 16/8 but plan to keep fasting if I’m not yet hungry when I’ve planned to stop. I really enjoy both of your channels. 💕

I added Fast, Feast, Repeat to my audio library holds, but I don't remember doing it, and it came available a few days ago. I almost didn't start it since I didn't know why I got on the wait list, but I've really enjoyed what I've listened to so far. I started fasting today, and planned on doing 20/4, but ended up doing 21/3. I did two weeks of 23/1 before but I felt like I was scrambling to get my needed amount of calories. I felt like 3 hours was enough, and I was able to leisurely get in what I needed. I'm starting at 185 and hoping to lose at least 25 lbs. I would prefer 30-35, but I'll just have to see what happens. It's nice to see your progress. It's cementing my resolve

Thank you! That's why I decided to share so openly, I am not a perfect 'diet' or fitness guru... just regular lady who enjoys eating and I thought others might like to see my POV with fasting.

Jackie I love your honesty, and your tricks to survive_ in all things . I am on day 17 doing 16/8 I lost 5 pounds and then gained back 2 because of overeating Mexican food. I am feeling like I need to move my eating windows from 1 to 7 time slot and try fasting for 18.

just remember it isn't a race & gaining 2 lbs from an indulgent meal isn't gaining 2lbs of fat. Fluctuations are so normal.

When do you do up and down days ?

Wow! You get to eat a lot of food and still lose weight. Many dieters eat less all day long and never lose or they actually gain. How long is your eating window usually open?

Love your channel, learnt a lot. I do 18/6 usually window opened 1pm to 7pm. sometimes though I feel hungry in the morning and want to eat earlier than 1pm, but that means I have to start fasting before 7pm, which is too early. what would you suggest. Just not fast as long as normal for a day and then get back to it? I have so much weight to lose. thanks.
@FastingFoodie3 жыл бұрын
If I truly felt like I needed to eat, I would and then move on the next day. But usually I try to distract myself, drink a coffee or water until my regular eating window. I feel like waiting is easier the longer I do it!

Im binging your videos! Thank you for covering this topic in this way! I love the weekly updates! I was just wondering, what do you think your calorie intake is on your omad days? I know calorie intake needs will be different for everyone but I just was curious about your omad calorie intake vs your 500 cal days!
@FastingFoodie2 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad! I really don't know what my calorie intake is... and to be honest, I really don't know if I want to! I eat generous portions and don't exclude what sounds good. Maybe I'll do a general tracking for a week and make a video on that eventually? It'll likely be a lot!

When you first started intermittent fasting, did you start off right away or did you gradually go longer and longer without eating until you reached your desired fasting time?
@FastingFoodie4 жыл бұрын
I started right in with 18:6 and it pretty quickly changed to closer than 3-4 hour windows. But for the most part, I really think a slow and gradual approach could really work for others. I just like to jump into things! :P
