I’ve been to see and hear Jackson - all over the country. I’ll be in Tacoma later this month to see JB and JT. I grew up and grew old with JB as my soundtrack. He and I are only a month apart in age. I’ve said many times in my later years that I so hope that Jackson outlives me because a world without Jackson Browne…we’ll that ain’t no kind of world for me.

As a 52 year old that was literally raised on his music I am dreading the day it comes. I have been blessed to see him many times, and mostly with my mom who is why I grew up with him. He’s always been my favorite and nothing could ever change that. I think I am introspective in part because of his music. I was that 5 or 6 yr old trying to figure out what Fountain of Sorrow was all about.

Absolutely beautiful. Cool to know that Linda Ronstadt is somewhere in that story. Had a crush on her back in the 70s and been mesmerized by and loving this song since the 70s. The whole Melody of this song and the way it flows into Colors of the Sun and then into Sing my Songs to me and For Everyman on that original album is one of the best records ever made. Still listen to it from start to finish at least once a year.

I was a sophomore in 1973-74. Everyone knew about the Eagles. Mr. Wiseman dug up a record player and supplied us with fill-in-the-blank photocopies of lyrics. "For a Dancer". I learned how to pay attention to meaning. I learned insight. I learned that I could tell a story with the pieces people already have. I get a little better at it every day. I remember him as slight and moderate, built for longevity. Barring misfortune, Scott Wiseman adapted to common core, completed his career and now enjoys a retirement of contemplation and broad vistas.

Back when I had my first job at 15/16, and coming to grips with how an older man who was not your dad could boss you around in the absence of your family, I was already an avid JB fan and had been for years. One day that boss, my store manager, found out I was a fan bc I was wearing a JB "Tour 80" concert shirt. You know the ones: baseball jersey type -- white front with the colored sleeves to the elbows (I still have it, no its not for sale). He then told me he went to high school with Jackson. He may have said it was Sunny Hills High in Orange County Calif. He said he always had a guitar hanging 'round his neck ... and long hair. I suddenly realized ... "hey, I do that. And I have long-ish hair". I snapped out of my fantasy when he ordered, "go get carts". Ha ha. I saw my manager differently after he told me that. I admired him. Can you imagine? I suppose to the people that post here they completely get it and some may even have a similar story. I had never met nor even been near to Jackson so knowing someone that was in some way one degree separated was huge to me at that impressionable age. Had to be, right - - here I am recounting that story some 40 years later. Thanks Jackson, Val for putting up this awesome content.
