From what I remember, the global refund saved her from a lawsuit. You couldn't sue her after accepting the refund, and since she gave the refund to everyone - no one could take legal action
@racheld75282 ай бұрын
Unfortunately many people didn’t get their refund. I had seen that posted from people on many sites. The other week a girl was talking about how her sister saved up and got all the lipsticks when they launched and she asked for a refund when stuff was in them and the company blocked her emails and stopped responding and she never got her money back. They had videos and pictures they sent in as proof just so they weren’t doing it to get the product and money as well. The sister used her email then to try and help and nothing happened. It’s those stories that make me sad. Those are the stories that need to be told, because they are the ones who really had to work for the money to spend on that product. They didn’t get free PR like some. That is sad. But taking legal action for a couple hundred bucks is probably not worth the money in lawyer fees or a retainer. But ya it just made me sad that she had worked so hard as a young person to save up and buy them and then treated so badly and did not get the refund. The girl was a big fan of Jaclyn and did want the highlighters and whatever else was put out and her family bought it for her, try to lift her back up. She liked those products, but she was always a bit wary of them given the lipsticks and she a bit of a bitter taste in her mouth since she had been treated so badly about the lipsticks and no refund. I am happy she got a few products she really liked, but still sad she didn’t get the refund for all those lipsticks that she couldn’t use.

It’s so annoying to me that ppl don’t see right through someone like Jaclyn that lies so much. Her whole life is spent over glorifying every part of it to try and sell it to you in one way or another, even the problems she creates for herself she still uses to her benefit, well actually that’s many influencers 🤔
@irairod51602 ай бұрын
EVERYBODY would've forgiven Jaclyn if she had acted as a proper business manager. "Some lipsticks are bad. I don't know how it happened, but I'm sorry that they disappointed. We're taking them back and we'll investigate. In the meantime, here's your money." Done. But she lied. She made fun of people who found problems with the product. She allowed her fans to berate anyone who was complaining. She implied that some people were "adding" things to their perfectly-fine lipsticks to film their "discoveries" and get views. She ignored sound advice from those with more experience. She blamed everyone else. She took no responsibility for the faulty production or the way she handled the crisis. THAT is what she did wrong and why people cannot trust her.

What she doesnt realize is that it really isnt about the lipsticks. It was way more in her reaction and decisions afterward. And while Jordan touched on that, which was super important and real, its never been Jaclyn taking that responsibility. I do understand, it wasnt her making the lipsticks, but that is the risk you take when they chose the cheapest manufacturer in the US. They risked the cheaper price tag and it backfired. I also understand that she was young and dumb and didnt know. Hindsight is 20/20. But again, she lied, continues to, calls people bullies when theyre not, and INHO has always played the victim card. And i dont believe for one second she could give up social media and be fine. Thats her entire life and confidence.
@jaynefrances99942 ай бұрын
True! I remembered Jeffree Star having the same issue about the same time as hers. You would see then the huge contrast of public reaction then. Jeffree refunded AND replaced the contaminated units, no questions asked. JS admitted fault and fixed the problem. I remembered people then praising the way JS cosmetics handled the situation, and JS never got backlash from it. Jaclyn would have had the same response if she didn't lie and double down. Now, she's rewriting history.

If they took 20min to watch a few videos, they would see that people DID find other things in the lipsticks, not just fuzzies. The real journalism would be to show it to her, and confront her. They could also verify the lab, it was public knowledge which one she used. They could confont her with those bad opinions. Did they even bother to do it? No. It was so annoying. Also the narrative was that she was cancelled because of bad product. It wasnt, and again they would understand it if they did ANY research. So appreciate you mentioning Alex's passing. She was a true gem and it's so sad that we've all lost her. I can't imagine how devastated her family, friends, and Archie are. Thanks for that 🤟

I loved Mac back in the days and started collecting eyeshadows like everyone did. Then new brands entered the market and I ditched Mac for years but somehow since last year I purchased some products and suprisingly I liked them. I am 36 now and more into subtle make-up with a touch of color every now and then. Anyone else on the nostalgic make-up brands wagon?

I've never put a single dollar into Jaclyn's pocket, and I am so glad you're continuing to fact-check her. People see her as some sort of poor, wounded fawn or something. She's not. Every single move she's made has been for the benefit of one person: herself. She will step on and over ANYONE if it means putting herself first. She didn't refund the lipsticks out of altruism, she did it as a means to save her reputation. She doesn't even believe the lipsticks were bad, so why else would she have done it? Now she's acting like history is an amorphous entity that can be edited like a Wikipedia article. She is foul.

After all her lies and drama I'm surprised Jaclyn still has an audience. Like, why?

Exactly. Just effing stop and she'll fade away.

I feel when we know the “why” to why Jaclyn still has diehard fans, then we will know the “why” Trump has his diehard uninformed, biased fans. You can’t argue that what I said here isn’t the truth.

At this point who in their right mind would trust a single word that comes out her mouth?! She's a habitual liar, and she couldn't care less about her followers or customers, unless it affects her bottom line.

Omg I’m so glad you’re commenting on the Jaclyn interview! I watched it, agape. The comments were so delusional too. What a rewrite of history lol.

jaclyn is trying to rebrand. calling her out is the right thing to do. you're 100% doing the right thing here jen. jaclyn will keep on lying. she banks on people having short memory, not being there and not fact-checking. jaclyn licherally caused the original koze to shut down only to close her store quietly and pretend she didn't do anything wrong. lipsticks are the tip of the iceberg with her, she lies about soooo many things

I love listening to you as I unwind from my day. I haven’t been involved in the beauty space for years, but after I found your channel last year, I feel somehow connected to those roots again. Also love how I can connect to the beauty space by listening instead of having to intently watch a video/tutorial. Thanks for all the work that you do ❤

She keeps going back to “it was only 2%” but the 2% of units sold is still A LOT of people
@Jamieleanne19852 ай бұрын
She previously said 1% were affected, now it's crept in in these interviews to 2% ?? There's another lie. Does she think people don't notice this stuff? I bought her palette years ago and loved it. Would never support or watch any of her videos now. Her fella is just as bad, can't stand him either. Are they getting paid for all these interviews lately? They must be. She's obsessed with money.

I have a medical disorder that made it so I learned a LOT about collagen. I've been trying to get my friends to understand that eating/topical collagen doesn't work!!! There are things that can hydrate your skin but nope. Collagen is made by your body! I wish more people did their research! Also, I totally relate to the last funny thing. Every time I wear glitter/eyeliner, it's gone it five minutes hahaha

jen i had no idea that jaclyn was on these podcasts. as a fellow adhd empath who loves info and nerding out on information and human behavior like you, i appreciate the coverage! i can’t believe people are saying what your disclaimer said! i was there, too, watching all of the stuff. it’s amazing…closure? if we can call it that, with all of the new information we have, both from her and from the court docs. your analysis is spot on!!!! mad love 💕

I find it weird how Jordan is saying that Jacqueline is not a chemist, nor someone who is meant to be a CEO, in my mind, if you are a CEO of a company this word to happen to my own product or someone else’s product underneath me if I were working as an Umbrella company then I would have everything recalled and looked at and remade. Or at least scratch and then remade. I would have been so embarrassed and apologized to everybody on every single piece of social media.

Cue the jaclyns closet tour with ceo glasses on and rose pouring in glasses 😂😂😂😂 she is gross. Never will support anything from her. Quit buying morphe crap yrs & years ago. This shows how important our clicks and purchases are. Her fans made her this platform. Not her hard work or dedication bc she's proven to lack both pair those with no integrity or morals, she is gross. That's my opinion. 😊

I have always loved MAC eye shadows and lipsticks. Love their extra dimension highlighters and cheek colors as well. At 64 years young, I’m still into wearing makeup and having fun trying new and different ways to have fun with makeup. When others are choosing to wear less or NO makeup, I’m having fun with my makeup!! I use concealer for a no makeup look. I am experimenting with blush and ideas in placement of blush as well. Makeup is therapeutic for me. After menopause, I found it good therapy for me to do my makeup because it didn’t change or cause me to become depressed like my body has. Gaining weight and not being successful in dropping weight like I used to without any issues, has made me depressed. Makeup lifts my spirits…💕

I was an OG follower of Jacklyn from when she did videos in her kitchen.. I loved her make up tutorials. I’m a self taught bridal makeup artist and I did learn a few things from her. The MAJOR thing that bothered me the most was when one of her subscribers I believe on Instagram commented on a post first saying that there were some rough patches in one of her lipsticks, and Jacklyn criticize the girl for having dry lips. I was so confused by her response and then when more “ evidence” came out it was how Jacklyn conducted herself with everything that followed, including leading up to now. I felt that she could had handled it better than she did, and the little white lies turned into more and more and as we’ve learned actual facts of her NOT owning own her her own company. (thanks to you, Jen and your investigative work) Jaclyn’s never truthfully cleared the air with her fans. I think if she would’ve done this even a couple years ago, she might be able to completely start fresh again. I feel that she kind of brings on more drama into her situations that is not always wanted 😕
