i live in california and so many of the cookies have different names here lol. for example, the shortbread are called trefoils, caramel chocolate chip are called dulce de leches, peanut butter sandwiches are do-si-dos, caramel delites are samoas, peanut butter patties are tagalongs and the lemon ones are called savannah smiles. ive never seen the bread ones or adventurefuls. and yes i used to be a girl scout lmaooo

Those are all the same names I remember from growing up in Ohio, except the Savannah Smiles, and all appear to be the same names my local troop is selling in NY.

I read it is because they have 2 different factories that make the cookies and they both have different recipes so the names are different,

i was a girl scout all through elementary school and let me tell you, we ALL hated sitting outside trying to sell cookies to strangers. the moms would complain the whole time. OH, and all my troop did was arts and crafts and no saving the world like other girl scouts do

I was a Girl Scout in the seventies. And the only civic duties we did was sing holiday songs (Christmas,Hanukkah and maybe a couple kwanzaa songs) at a nursing home. We mostly did arts and crafts. After my 3rd year I dropped out. And we didn’t sell cookies outside of stores we had to go door to door or sell them to our parents coworkers and grandparents and maybe our own church and family friends. And believe me that was humiliating enough. People would scatter whenever a girl would come to church or parents work in her girl scout sash. Because they knew it was cookie season. And whoever wasn’t quick enough got guilted into buying BOXES (multiple) of cookies. Lol

I think it depends on the troop leader. my mom was mine growing up and shes a nurse and loves camping. so her deal was trying to teach us practical life skills and also camping stuff.

As a past Girl Scout I can tell you that pretty much all we did was talk about cookie sales and talk about magazine sales we did in the fall. In my 4 years of doing it, I think we only did like 3 service things like singing at a nursing home. I would’ve definitely wanted to be a Boy Scout instead lol

My troop also sang at nursing homes. God it was always so depressing. We sang our little hearts out to a room full of people who couldn’t of cared less about our performances. I think the nursing home felt like it was free entertainment and it gave us something to do. A win win situation.

Hello former girl scout here! You may need to issue a correction or apology for some of the things said in this review because girl scouts do in fact make the cookies. When you become a girl scout you actually sign away your rights to cook or bake anything BUT cookies. Once you've mastered the cookie recipes you get accepted to Cookie College which is essentially like Santa's workshop but for making massive batches of cookies to be sold to buyers around the country. The girl scouts do NOT get paid for this, but they do get a Cookie Connoisseur badge! So basically this whole review is offensive. Sorry to be the one to tell you!

And even though I am no longer a girl scout I'm still not allowed to cook or bake anything other than girl scout cookies (as i mentioned, we do have to sign away our rights to make any other foods). Luckily, former girl scouts get a 5% Uber Eats discount to offset the cost of ordering food since we can't make our own!!

So this just sounds like exploiting children for labor and profit but disguising it as humanitarian and artistic growth. I don't think they need to apologize, GSA needs to apologize to the children they robbed of being able to bake anything but their cookies. Lucas and Jacob don't influence GSA so an apology from them would be kind of empty. But that's really sad to hear that they are protfiing off of children and probably adults without compensating.
