Thank you so much!!!! I couldn't figure out the cause of the "FLO2" error message on our Sundance spa. I tried 3 different possible fixes. Nothing worked. Knowing almost nothing about spas but being very handy and knowing my way around electrical & mechanical parts I was very frustrated and was about to give up and call a spa guy. Then I was fortunate enough to find your video. Turns out it was a loose connector! Such a great feeling of satisfaction to fix myself and also not having to spend any money! Next time I have a problem I will be sure to look for your advice! Thanks again!

This FL2 error happened to my Sundance today. I accidentally dropped the cover and the jets kicked on. Apparently the flow switch was stuck in a closed position and the cover falling on the tub loosened it free. Going to get a new flow sensor as this will happen again. Super easy and helpful video. Thanks.

Hi Scott, I appreciate your videos- very helpful. I have a problem with a 2004 jacuzzi J 355. When the tub is warming up after filling the tub the reheating process is normal. Then when it hits the desired temperature setting (102) the display indicates that the heat has gone off, but the heater has not gone off. I have my hand on the actual heater pipe while this is happening and it is definetly staying on. Then about 60 or 90 seconds later the circ pump shuts off completely and almost instantly the heater metal pipe gets raging hot to the touch. At this point I run to the breaker box and shut everything off. I have already replaced the temperature sensor and it still is happening. I have also replaced the Laing circ pump with a new Laing circ pump this week also- no change. Any thoughts are really appreciated. Thank you. Paul

You have a couple things that come to mind. I replace the Cir pump heat sensor Hi/Low sensor Flow switch Filters... I call this a system Im already there so I replace them all if I still have a problem it is most likely a software issue with the board and that would need to be replaced also. Your videos have been extremely helpful. I have a Jacuzzi J230 that I assumed from somebody with a broken j pump housing on the main pump. I purchased a whole new pump for good measure. I am struggling to understand where the smaller circulation pump that feeds the heater supplies water from. The line in on the circulation pump was sitting unhooked when I received the tub, and I do not see an obvious place to plumb it to. Thanks in advance for any help, you rock!

40d comes up on my J355 jacuzzi , it’s like the topside control locks and none of the buttons will control anything. Tried the resetting of the breaker . Pump comes on and runs through the cycle. Sometimes the topside works and other times it will not work when trying to push buttons . Need some insight, thank you .
@spaman54403 ай бұрын
Make sure the topside is connected properly if that doesn't fix it its most likely a software issue and its kinda a crap shoot... It will either be the board or the topside or both... What is going on is the system is not talking to itself ...now for the fun part you have to narrow it down to what you think is the problem you have to look at all the parts and see what just doesn't look right 1 a tear in the overlay that has let water seep in 2 a crack in a soldered connection on the board 3 a loose connection on the board Sometime you get lucky and it is steering you ring in the face and its an easy cheap fix other time its over a Thousand to fix. All of these sensors plug into a single clip with multiple positions within the clip. Any help you could offer would be much appreciated.

If its new contact the dealer or manufacture. If its new and the filters are over a year old its time to replace if you stick your hand down by the left filter hole and you do not feel any suction it is probably the heat sensor or the cir Pump If you do not know the history of the spa and it is over 5 to 7 years old. Hi Spa Man, wondering if you can give me some advice. I have a 2006 Sundance Cayman which had been working, but recently had a lot of problems with FL2 errors and heating. Because of its age and from your advice, I decided to just replace most components (incl., Circulation Pump, Flow Control Valve, Heat Sensor, High/Low Sensor, Heater and both Filters). It seems to work great now, but I am still plagued by an FL2 error, even after running the hose directly into the intake to flush out air bubbles. I’d appreciate your thoughts on this - and thank you for all of your videos!! In case it’s important, I’m in Groveland CA and we have average 90-100 Summers and mild Winters with occasional light snow.

Was it from the top end of the flow switch where the electrical is located or some other part of the water system in the hot tub? I wish I knew.

Hey Spa Man. Is it best to drain the tub prior to changing this switch? It's currently snowing here in Illinois and I'd rather not create an ice skating rink in my yard. I see a few people using cloth and vice grips to clamp off the 3 hoses. Thoughts?
@spaman54405 жыл бұрын
Ok.. In your situation I would not drain and do not use vise grips to kink the hose with cold water in the tube and the cold weather outside your could crack something.. This is what I would do..#1 loosen all clamps. #2 get a heat gun or Hair dryer (So you can soften the tubing for easy removal) #3 Get a wet/dry shop vac to clean up any water #4 use a pliers to twist hose and loosen hose along with heat gun.... but do not remove hoses until all are loose..#5 once all hoses are loose and tubing is kinda soft... Take a deep breath and Go Man Go...Ive done it this way many time for a lot of the same reasons.. Hope this helps and Thanks for Watching & Subscribing.

This spring I turned off the power to see if it would reset itself. That is when the FL-2 showed up. Nothing started up, so I watched your video and went back outside only to find that the hot tub would start and heat, but the flow error is still there. I took the side cover off, but there is no flow switch anywhere?? And I can change the heat setting, but the water temp does not change. Would this mean a heat sensor is bad?

Hi Spa Man. I am getting an FL-1 error, malfunctioning open, on my old j-270. The outside temperature where I am is way below freezing (-13 f) and the water temperature in the tub is below the usual setting. When I turn on the main pump 1 the fl-1 error goes away and the heater turns on. Turning on pump 2 does not cause the fl-1 to go away. As soon as pump1 turns off the fl-1 error comes back and the heater turns off. My tub has a circulation pump but it doesn't sound like it's running. Is this an indication of a bad circulation pump or a bad flow switch? Or both? What does the flow switch control? Will my tub survive the winter without being drained if the circulation pump is bad? I have tried turning off the power and then turning it back on and it still shows the error. Is there a fail safe that turns on the main pumps occasionally? Thank you.

Thanks for the video SPA MAN! I was getting a FLO error, and my ozone bubbles were on and off every few seconds. After watching your video I was able to replace the flow switch. I'm still getting a FLO error, and ozone bubbles are still on and off every few seconds. I can hear the circulator pump click on and I can see the flow switch start to close. But the switch never fully closes, and after a few seconds the pump clicks off. This repeats over and over. I tried temporarily removing the filter to see if flow would increase and fully close the flow switch, but that didn't work. What else should I check? Is my circulation pump worn out? The hot tub is 15 years old. Thanks SPA MAN!!!
