Jade Xu does not need anybody's approval to be a legitimate Laureate and a champion. She earned it through hard work. So, trying to police an imaginative wrong foot position is a deliberate way to downplay her wonderful attributes. Adrian Garcia, did you participate in the Olympic Games? I don't think so. Envy consumes you, don't spit your venom here.

Not really. I think ballistic is trying to bounce as far as you can go in a stretch. The way she's doing it here seems more like a dynamic warm-up to me.
@IAmGunzNoob

NightmirrorXx So It's safe to do these stretches?
@NightmirrorXx
@NightmirrorXx 9 жыл бұрын
As long as you have flexibility to already go that far I think it's fine. You don't want to be bouncing in a way to cheat farther into the stretch. When you get flexibility you probably have a better feel for it. It seems dynamic in a way that instead of swinging a leg up she's just swinging her torso towards her feet instead. The better you know your body the better you can tell if it's safe basically.

Xeno Poko - For this stance the feet should always be facing forward as parallel as possible. Sometimes the feet slide outward at an angle, but by the book they should be totally straight at all times.

When I try to put my feet straight it puts a lot of tension on my knees, is it okay to leave them slightly outward so as to not damage my knees?
@matthewosborne2549
@matthewosborne2549 10 жыл бұрын
Wushu in general can be tough on the knees and not everyone can be thighs parallel and feet straight, in the beginning. If you ever want to compete best not let the feet turn out ever. Now then you don't have to squat all the way at first, keep your feet straight and squat as low as you can. Gradually your legs will get stronger and in turn can protect your knees better. Make sure you are very warm when doing these stances and with enough time and effort your body can mold into what you see in the video here. For competition you do want to be by the book as much as possible, though even with high level athletes some things get a little swept under the rug but I suggest trying to make it ideal as possible in a way that you can handle and gradually push the stance lower over time.

I have flat feet and my knees fall inward with front parallel feet... any help?
@matthewosborne2549
@matthewosborne2549 10 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, I've taught several people with flat feet and much like Danny above the best thing you can do is perform the proper shape first then go as low as you can. So basically step out to the proper the length of the stance and see how low you can go with your knees out and toes straight. Once the knees collapse or the toes go outward than you are at your limit. People with flat feet often use the outside of their feet to balance on and it does give a lower stance but can create a bad habit that is hard to break. Now then the more flexible you are the easier it will be to perform so things like Knee Splits(In gymnastics I believe they call it Frog) and Butterfly stretch. When you are warm and sweaty that's when you should be stretching, squat down into the riding/horse stance. Place your hands on the floor and use your elbows to push your knees and hips wide. Don't spend your time holding yourself up during this stretch, allow gravity to just let your body fall into the stance. You can bounce slightly or rock back and forth or side to side to feel out the entire stance. While you are doing that you can also grab your feet and force them straight while your elbows are pushing your knees wide. If you do that every time you warm up or cool down I'm pretty sure you will find success. When actually performing the techniques in basics and routines there should be no bouncing at all. Hope that helps. And if you or anyone need anything else I'm happy to help.

keep your feet flat and your lower body a solid yang, Tuck your but and relax your upper body. Keep your palms at face height and elbows tucked. Great tutorial. I envy your flexibility, I use to have a good flexibility too but after a knee injury from a bad habit of pulling heavy skids with my right feet, now I have the hardest of time bending the knee to such extend and it makes me sad (and hurts too =), even though I can still make kicks, my knee movement is fragile and limited. I hope I'll be able to work it back to being flexible. Perhaps I'll find some exercise in your video that will help me. Thank you for sharing, people don't know how this knowledge is gold but it is not enough to know, we must move and self-improve, it is after all the best investment in our life.

Pardon me, a question, in several texts it says that the mingmen point, should be thrown externally, and the back should form a kind of C, therefore, the chest indented and the coccyx performing a retroversion. Now, what is the correct method without destroying your hips and knees and then getting to 50 years old having to get prostheses? In minute 1.10 you can see instead, your back very straight and the coccyx following the natural lumbar lordosis, obviously the minmen point and retracted instead of externally shifted. My criticism is not a criticism, but a question because in 15 years of practice no teacher has been able to give me an answer other than to stick to the texts, however I have been playing the knees and the hip. I thank in advance anyone who can give me a comprehensive and scientific answer (biomechanics), it is well established that pelvis, femur and skeletal structure differs from different parts of the world, and with it of course biomechanics.

The description is completely wrong with respects to how she does it though. Like literally nothing she does is what is written on screen. • Her feet are not “a bit” more than shoulder width apart. It’s more like double shoulder width. • Her feet are not parallel, they are pointing slightly but significantly outwards. • Her knees are not bent 90°, they are more like 60° (I measured). Her thighs are however parallel with the ground. Edit: Please note I’m not saying her stance is wrong (it’s excellent). I’m saying the description is wrong.
