Saw Jonny In a bar in downtown MLPS MN when he just started playing clubs. He walked on top of the bar while the bartender poured 151 on the bar and lit it on fire! never forget that!

I miss his music back then, but he is personally much happier now and I am grateful for that, for all he's given us musically. I am a Christian-turned-Atheist but am happy for his own personal peace where he finds refuge in something and is healthy and free from drug and alcohol abuses.

Ain't NOBODY better at Blues. So glad he got away fro the drugs and alcohol. Now he can focus on his immense talent and we can be assured he'ss be playing for us for a long time rather than becoming another overdosed martyr to his craft. GOD BLESS HIM. LOVE YOU, YOUR MUSIC, YOUR VOICE, YOUR TALENT, AND YOUR SINCERE HUMILITY most of your ability have absolutely none of!

How anyone can critisize this guy I will never know. What an amazing musician.
@jindandy78262 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I saw some self-absorbed music critic making a comment to the effect of, "he's young & has a long ways to go". All I could think was, are you blind, deaf AND stupid?!
@jakelaguna22789 жыл бұрын
God Blessed this young man with the gift of music and the blissful pain of the blues... It pours out of every pore he embodies... And to be only 16 when this was recorded has the chops of those such as Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Gary Moore, and just a few others that I believe were not as talented as he is... I wish he would come back to these roots, although he is still very talented today, just a little more refined and defined... This was raw and real... An amazing celebration of the blues at such a young age... I have been watching and listening to him since the very beginning, and this is my favorite live show he performed. I got the chance to see him in Indianapolis at the vogue in 1998, and he was absolutely phenomenal, basically playing this same set... He opened for Little feet, and blew them off the stage... Maybe he peaked too young... But no one can say that this music will ever lose it's raw realness and life,pain, and hope... All parts of being alive... jl

@@barbipudwill7442 I saw Jonny perform about 6 months ago. He was on tour with Buddy Guy in the states. I had never seen him before but remember hearing his music beginning about this period. He obviously has grown up and his stage presence was much more subdued but he still put on an impressive show. Well rounded performance including several of his awesome hits. Seemed healthy and in good spirits. Hope he's back with us for many more years. He sure took the world by storm, amazing talent.

This young guy is a totally amazingly living, the beautiful musical discovery of those last years.... So much Talented ! a very touching and beautiful version ! Jonny Lang is an amazing soulman ! He reminds me this fantastic performance of Joe Cocker "with a little help of my friends - 1969 - Woodstock - a total immersion of soul, heart and body in the song... When music and voice become blood and tears.

I listened to him then too, saw him in Portland after he was electrocuted from being bare foot and he wore shoes after that, I became a christian and stopped listening to him had all his albums I got rid of. Jonny came to Christ I was stoked but miss his sound, think hes starting to get it back, saw him 5 years back at the knitting factory in Spokane WA. yes God gifted him, glad Jonny is recognizing the God that gifted him.
@rebeccamachen56889 ай бұрын
Christinetraylor, please understand this line of talk is no longer permitted. If Jonny was shocked, this was done by some other person this very song tells on. "Think you might want to take that man's place......sometimes you think you can." That's exactly what wanted Jonny's powerful light; caused this current malfunction. We all know Jonny's innate set-up is highly unlikely to develope into contradictory states. Clear as a bell, he gives no one opportunity for further scapegoating. I doubt the highest, Jesus Christ, thinks much of it either. Rebecca Ann Grubb
