Greg, great, just do every step slowly and carefully and do not drop the plug on the SC, put something under it just in case you do or if you ever fill.

Mitch, I just changed the supercharger oil on the 03, Super V8 today. I don't know how you managed to get 8 oz of oil out. I only managed 7 oz. Initially, when I broke the fill plug free. some oil seeped out from the plug and hole. This prompted me to jack up the front of the car until the oil stopped seeping out. Once that happened, I removed the plug completely and started draining using a syringe with the oil kit from ebay. I evacuated 6 ounces. I dropped the front of the car and jacked up the rear and got the additional 1 oz out. To fill the charger back up, I jacked up the front of the car and replaced the 7 oz of oil. I have to state getting the plug back in is a bit of a challenge. I added 4 CCs of Motorkote to the supercharger oil. Thanks for the video.

Great job Frank. You fill until it starts to come out of the whole when the car is level. I know I could have put in abit more in but like you said, that damn drain plug was pure hell getting back on and I did not want to tackle that thing again.. I did not show in the video, but it took over 20 minutes to get it to thread correctly. It wanted to cross thread and that would have been disastrous. I seem to break thing when I try to fix things. I am going to look on your page and I hope I see a video of your car.. I am glad this video did help you. There were none I could find for a Jag..

Watch and listen to what i say about that, you will hit something but you have to slowly move it around and you will finally find the opening..

I tried this on my 2007 XKR. No chance. I couldn't even get an allen key into the grub screw there is so little room to work. I decided to leave well alone lol.

Matt, excellent video but I have one question: how the heck do you get the fill plug out? That seems the most difficult part. There is just no room to work in the space. Using an Allen wrench takes for ever. There must be an easier way to remove this plug.

I did have issues in the beginning for sure but I just made sure i put something below in case you drop it. It should not be on very tight, just make sure not to cross thread it. Thanks for the nice words. What do you have?

@@MitchGrooms Mitch: I have a 2002 Jaguar XKR with 65,000 miles on it. Many in our Jaguars Forum have done this and it seemed simple until I tried to get the plug out using a long 3/16 Allen key. Just no room to get any leverage on it. I even bought the kit.

Robin, the Supercharger oil is only boxed in the very front of the Supercharger. The oil is used only to turn the gears that turns the Supercharger which never touches any oil at all. I hope i explained this and If I did not understand your question, please ask again..I so appreciate you asking a question..

Does this go for the 2011 Jaguar xjl also ? Because I got my car back from a shop for a tune up and oil change . And I have a loud knocking noise now !

No sir, totally different set up, please do not drive your car until you find that the issue is, did you check your oil level?

Can this oil be consumed by the supercharge. If it should run low, what would happen. (I've had a squealing noise and loss of power develop.) Fearing the worst.

Actually the oil is only for the gears that turn the Supercharger and not the splines in the supercharger, explain your issue
