You inadvertently pointed out one of my major frustrations with those car configurators. The colors NEVER look like that in real life. It's always enhanced with photoshop or something like it to make it pop on your screen and make you pay the extra thousand for the really nice looking color. I've been railed for doing this with my architecture renders and I wish someone would rail the car companies for essentially lying about how the paint will really look on the car in the real world.

So glad another XJC is getting restored. Thanks to Harry for allowing us to share the pain, but that is old cars....Love the colour- I’d be tempted to put the vinyl roof back though. I’d also be tempted to get a few more BHP liberated from that fine engine!

Bloody hell. They are building a new Jag here! Question is would Harry have started the project knowing what we do now? I can not even begin to imagine the costs here.

Probably sad but I just loved this video. Lots of detail, I was aware of this colour matching process, but not the finer points, really clever stuff. Having owned a ‘76 XJ back in the day (lovely car appalling build quality) I’m very familiar them, kept it on the road of 6 years, became a battle of wills - me vs the car! This era of Jag rot and break for a pass time, nothing here would have been a surprise, could have been far worse believe me. The issue is really budget, I’m sure Harry will stick with it as everyone knows these things eat money, the upside is that properly rebuilt with all the weak areas upgraded this will be a truly magnificent car. Love the colour by the way, perfect for the car.

I always find painting cars and colours fascinating so this was great to see. That green just shade darker will be absolutely spot on!

My Dads best mate had a pastel lavender XJ6C, of course with black vinyl topping. I had near new '76 12C in regency red [sunlighted=red, overcast=burgundy] while other club members had various, but nothing like, ahem this. I advocated non-metallic in prior episode. In a resto-mod fashion era it will look epic.
