Also i recommended to use OEM o'rings, the ones for the connector pipe from the cooler that sits in the middle of the V to water pump.

Hello! This was very informative. I have a 2014 F-Type V6S with 74k miles and a low coolant alert that popped up this week. I now feel very informed to bring it to my local mechanic and let them know the deal to check all of these hoses and the water pump. My question is, how many hours labor should all of those replacements take? I would like to have that background knowledge when I talk to my mechanic about it. Thanks for the info!

It obviously varies from vehicle to vehicle as to what the technician will find when they take the charger off. But to help with your question, to remove and replace the supercharger, you are looking at 6 hours from a trained tech who has done one before. If a first time allow a couple of extra hours. The pipes them selves are around an 1 or 2 to change. Again it depends on how bad the pipes are, if any work has been done before on it, if they are cracked etc.

I think I am on borrowed tine at 70k. Car has been faultless since I acquired it (XJL) at 50k miles, the temp gauge needle has never moved from the middle once warmed up. Perhaps a happy weekend's supercharger removal is called for.

Hi David, have to love an XJL, its so tempting to say if it an't broke don't fix it, but they it goes and fails just when you need the car. So may be best to bite the bullet if you have the time.

Have '63 plate 3L and several wks ago it came up 'low coolant'. Checked and required half litre and has not lost any since? Do gaskets under supercharger need replacing when changing pipes? Shame you are so far away!

Hi Paul, I would recommend replacing the gaskets whilst your in that area as a matter of cause and definitely if you see any weeping in that area.
