Can we take a moment to think about how strong NIghtmare is? Especially Dream too. They're both significantly powered up by their own respective emotions, and you can't exactly "kill" the concept of who/what they are either. And since negativity is plentiful in a seemingly hopeless multiverse, Nightmare at all times seems to dominate the battlefield even in the backfoot.

just looking at the description and all the aus in this single episode, they're all made from one game and it's the game we all know. they're all inspired from undertale and have their own stories. this series did a good job gathering all of these, it's just feels real since they all have different characters, traits and backstories, yet they're all together. i think this might be the best thing a fandom could have. the work of people who are fascinated by the same game and burning with the desire to see more, is all brought together. animation is great too. all the style, dialogues, soundtrack... beautiful work. thanks for this.

The fact that Cross and Dream both use dual short swords for their melee combat make the fight even cooler, because their fighting styles mesh seamlessly, as opposed to if one used a claymore and thus had slower strikes.

There are multiple parallels between Cross and Dream. Dream was 6 when he and Nightmare ate the apples. I think he would be honest when he says he’s X-actly 500 years older than Cross. Cross would be around 27 years old when UnderVerse starts. Since XTale Timeline X lasted 21 years, that means he was also 6, and Dream would be 527. Bonus theory: since we know Nightmare didn’t start recruiting slaves until after Dream was unfrozen, and that each timeline is not connected with the flow of time in the Anti-Void, with Dream escaping his stone prison at 500 years old, this could mean that the multiverse is at least 27 years old. Which means Error is Sans’s age plus 27, since he was born along with the new multiverse.

I think the thing I'm most glad about is how they gave nightmare actual strength, in almost everything I see all he does is use his puppets and jab at people with tentacles. (and mess with their emotions) But in this, although he still uses tentacles, and puppets. And manipulation, he still has a unique and powerful way of fighting. I love this. One of the best animations I've ever seen on youtube. I cant wait to rewatch this over and over when it's finally complete. Also, how detailed everything is, how injuries actually affect later movement. Like the injuries on dreams legs from killers'-blasters-teeth actually give dream struggle at one point. This is a true masterpiece, thank you for sharing this with me and everybody else Jakei.

Man it is INCREDIBLE to see all the Epic! Tale crowd gathered and cheering for Cross it makes me so excited to want to see more of them...that moment where Dream catches the positive feelings and everyone there cheering for him and Cross, besides a clear reference to DBZ it was INCREDIBLE it still gives me goosebumps just to see him again. Those of more characters from other AU are also great they walk back and forth in this timeline with an air of so natural that it is incredible. There are so many things that I felt watching this episode ... The fight of Dream & Cross vs Killer & Nightmare was INSANE a fight of trial and overcoming for Cross, I already say that it is one of the best ever made in Underverse. And it's really surreal that this was all done by one person Jakei I have to take my hat off to how good his work is.

20:24 I love this scene, it's so well-made to show Cross returning to the light. After everything he's been through, the guilt of what he did to his friends, Dream can stills how him a forgotten memory, of them all still _being_ his friends in the first place. Friends that cared for him, no matter what. Defending himself, and trying to stop XGaster, even if it was a bad action, it doesn't make him a bad person. And so, Cross takes his first step, and it's beautifully portrayed. He struggles to take it, and sure it looks like it's because of his injuries from his battle with Killer, but it also represents him struggling to finally accept himself, and take that first step mentally. Slowly, as he takes more steps, it becomes easier, and he's finally ready to fight again... Go Cross!

I absolutely adore the exploration into how the characters would feel with being copies of already existing characters, this series isn’t just “look at all these cool sanses” (sansi?) it’s a true look into how they would feel and truly act in these sorts of situations And not only does that make this series more authentic but it also just makes it far more emotionally hitting and beautiful

Let's do an analysis... Nightmare had already gained enough power since the beginning of the episodes, so his power level was higher than that of Croos and Dream in every way. If X-Gaster hadn't intervened, Cross and Dream would have been defeated in the blink of an eye, but also if Core-Frisk and the AU's from the Omega line hadn't given Dream strength Nightmare would still have won the battle. This episode demonstrates the great strength of the King of Nightmares and what he is capable of doing, this is a character that you have to fear and NEVER make deals with. It should be noted that Dream also has impressive strength, however in that state it did not reach Nightmare's ankles. Nightmare will return for revenge because his threats should never be ignored.

Another thing worthy of note is that it seems that X-Undyne and X-Papyrus will be the characters to next confront the Undertale group. We can tell because X-Gaster uses the hand signals for 5 (V) and 9 (IX) at the end of the episode, which are the numbers for them. He did the same thing with IV and VIII, X-Muffet and X-Mettaton's numbers, right before they were used in 0.5, so we can tell it's related.
