Finally! I've been looking all over for basic lip syncing! I've found like twelve tutorials telling me about making the multiple mouths. I can't believe I never thought to alter the mouths like that last step. Thank you Jaltoid!
@TheGoldenDunsparce10 жыл бұрын
Great tutorial! It's crazy that in that amount of time, all you had was "Pedro" done. It's like early South Park, which was choppy mouth flaps, and Trey and Matt would spend almost an hour lip-syncing one sentence with about 5 different mouths.

You first import your audio, by doing File>Import. Or drag and drop it into flash. From there Place the audio on a keyframe.

You could use the "Keyframe Caddy" bar. It's a Flash extension. Instead of manually typing the keyframe number, you just click on the thumbnail. Search it out, "Keyframe Caddy"

Awesome, I really appreciate the tutorial. Based off of what you're showing there's a lot for me to learn. Finishing up a flash animation (not on this channel that I'm commenting with), and I did everything on separate layers and it's insanely unorganized. Any chance you can do a basic tutorial on grouping everything up within (I'm assuming) graphics?

what he means is animating on twos, you animated on ones. After you timed out your mouth shapes, you went in on every single frame (ones) and did small shape distortions, or movements, to in-between ready for the next movement. What @Toyama Akimoto means is where you would have a movement happening every single frame, he means he would have a movement every two frames. Essentially halving your workload.

I think you just have to set the sound from "event" to "stream" in the properties of the keyframe your sound is on. That should help. Also, Flash and MP3 don't like each other very much, so I'd suggest you to use wav files instead whenever you can :)

Well, it's a matter of preference. For example, CS3's default rate is 12, I generally animate anywhere between 15-20. I was just asking to see what Jaltoid was using, since many animators like anywhere between 20-32.

Tweening would be unnecessary. You usually only have so few frames inbetween. Unless you had like 10+ its just overdoing it. You need the manual control. It would just be trying to cut too many corners and it might turn out a little messier with unnecessary moment. I can imagine tweening all that would take even more time actually. Lip syncing is all about balancing your movement.
@Jaltoid12 жыл бұрын
I'm not completely sure I understand what your describing. Do you have an example I could see? I think I know what you mean. But, erm. I'd prolly fully get ya if you had something to show me. Feel free to PM me what you're referring to. Sometimes visuals just help.

Like having to hold a single mouth (drawing) for 2 frames before the next mouth is used. Cause I noticed you do your lip-syncing in ones, which is fine and smooth- but I tend to find that over-exhausting after having to deal with many characters at once. So I did mine on twos, which produces a snappy-feel to it. But was just curious if you've tried that and if you did, what's your thought about it
@chefbojardi11 жыл бұрын
Well, Flash in general starts out with 12 FPS for default settings. Professionally used FPS settings are generally around 24-30 actually. Take Pixar for example, they use 24 FPS with their Renderman ma-jiggy. Basically, 24 FPS is good. Yep.

Sorry if this is a silly question, but how do you hear the sounds over and over with you animation without testing the movie. Testing the movie messes up my audio.
@anton30064010 жыл бұрын
It's not a very silly question, took me time to find this out. When you have your sound file in a key-frame, along the right in frame properties there should be a heading called sync. Instead of it being event (by default), set it to stream. Hope it helps. :)

I have a quick question in regards to audio within the graphic you have for the character. You have the precise snippet of her talking. If I did audio in a file where it is one audio file and I want an exact moment from that to sync up talking inside of the graphic (since it's outside of it, I can't here it when editing inside), is there a way to do that other then making a separate audio file? (I wonder if I can say audio file one more time...Audio file)
