I made them on Sunday. OMG! So good. I used ground turkey with chorizo. My b/f froze the ground meat and hid it well in the freezer. It came out so yummy. I was able to make 9 patties. Thanks for the recipe.

DELICIOUS RECIPE! I made these last night using your recipe and they were a hit with the family!! Let me be clear, I made a batch of 17, and today only 2 remain😂. I already had a tried and true Jamaican Beef Patty recipe, but yours is my new go to! The crust, The crust, The crust!!...so flaky and buttery, definitely a winner. Thanks for sharing and please keep putting out these great recipes!!

The result was perfect the only thing is I would suggest to poke patties with a fork 2-3 times before cooking so that it doesn't become inflated like a balloon

I need to have my filling nice and dark brown by adding some oyster sauce, some browning sauce & instead of bread crumbs I add gelatin which fills it out & makes its more tender, juicy & stretches it out. I also add turmeric & curry to my dough & roll in lard & butter right before filling. Once filled I use egg wash or butter so it’s nice & shines out of the oven. Great recipe. I sometimes add a dark rich red wine to my filling for color & a rich flavor.

I never knew what they were called at the time, but I used to eat these each Summer I'd visit Washington, DC. All of the neighborhood kids were eating them, so I started eating them. We would buy them at a little corner store in Northwest, DC for around 55 cents. The store clerk would heat them up for us and drop them in small brown paper bags. Whenever you'd see someone holding a greasy brown paper bag, you knew what they were eating ... and they were delicious!
@sun_free4 жыл бұрын
55 cents?! Wow what a steal. The place I go to sells one patty for almost $4 lol
