My Dad has been making plantain fritters for me for years. Skill, experience and talent can win people's attention but without humility you lose people's hearts. Continue the great work though. From a Jamaican to another Jamaican.

I made this yesterday exactly as how he made it. It was nice but for it tasted abit thick and too much like plantain despite me mashing up the plantain. So i then did this recipe but added 1 egg to the mixture and that made it taste slightly more fluffier like a plantain pancake almost, which i preferred tbh. I never usually write comments but i had to help others out x

I was part of a group of Dutch students who helped excavate a site impacted by the build of the airport in Argyle. I was really impressed with that I saw, the good and the bad. I don't approve of Western investors buying parts of the island etc. I was not a tourist, I tried to get to know more about the culture and the issues...and I'm still in touch with a few people. I cook plantains every week (I live in Germany now).

My man, my mother use to give me plantain fritters years ago as a child in St. Vincent, sadly she is now passed away since 2016. Looking at you, you're probably in your late 30s , early 40s. I'm now 58. Do the maths, you're not the first to do this recipe, stop laying claims to a local dish that has been wide spread in the Caribbean for decades
