Wonderful reaction! A little background to this this was a concert organized by Don King that was connected to the Ali/Foreman fight. There were quite a few other educators there but James Brown was the headliner. He was 41 years old here. Unfortunately this was part of a documentary and they cut out some of his performance like the beginning of “the payback” was cut out where there’s completely different music that leads up to the main part of the song.

Thank you for watching!! It's funny you say that because I have another performance saved from that era. So I'll probably react to it and post it!

Work was so annoying today so I really needed this one to lift my spirits. Amazing!!! Dick Clark once said that Prince asked him for all the video he had of JB. You can tell how much he studied and practiced it over and over until he got his own version of those moves down. I got chills when JB went int “Try Me.” And, can we talk about the “GFOS” bedazzled waist? I can’t even!!!

08:28 I guess that was Fred Thomas on the bass, since he worked with james during that period, but I can't be sure.

The late greats and even SOME currents are ALWAYS the best teachers who’ve paved the way for MANY lol. Don’t forget Jackie Wilson now in regards to MJ and James Brown 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 🤪😋 He (Jackie Wilson ) wasn’t in my era of music like MJ was (90’s) , but I listen to and watch some of his vids , and I can definitely see the high influence. 🫠
