Seen him when I was a teenager. I am now 64 and I have never seen a performer like him since that show. I was speechless at the energy and intensity of the performance. No fireworks, no dancer., just a very gifted man and his band. It was amazing. 180 minutes of unbelievable talent on display. One very very talented man and those amazing musicians

@@SA_SovereigntyForPatriots Michael Jackson was the Greatest Entertainer of all Time dude yall delusional sammy and James were great Yes but Michael watched those greats and became greater nobody sang with such emotion since childhood to adulthood and danced like Michael Jackson danced not to mention that he sold more records and broke more records and won more awards than any other artist in History just Google who the Greatest Entertainer was and it will say Michael Jackson. Even Barry Gordy the founder of motown records said at michaels memorial service that he believes Michael was the greatest entertainer of all time. It ain't a argue or debate of opinion its simply the truth.

One of the greatest and best world's dancer, singer and songwriter of all times! JB was born in the beat, raised in the beat, lived and died in the beat. In this Zaire concert he shook the whole continent of Africa because Africa loves James Brown. Oh man I was just a tiny boy and wet behind the ears in '74 but watching this video brings it all up as if I was there! ❤😂

They don't call him the Hardest Working Man in Show Business for nothing! Always left everything on the stage. A complete inspiration for me. You owe your audience for their time and attention- over match the crowd's energy with your own. International star concert, corporate presentation, teaching a class of 4th graders- the lesson is timeless. Tap your inner James Brown :)

Oh, look for the biography that was written about him... he's an amazing dude that overcame a TON of hurdles. I miss the sentiment of the 70s wher epeople were happy to be themselves and didn't mess with other people out of anger. There was a sense of everyone just getting over it all then... Vietnam, the counterculture movement that fractured society, all of it. People felt comfortable enough to goof on racism and inequality openly, and now it's just whining without solutions being offered. Just more whining.

Michael J /Hey bro, like the comment. From what I’ve heard James didn’t pay all that great. And some of the guys would get hit with all kinds of chickenshit fines. If they missed a note he thought should’ve been played or if they missed a count off or were a minute or two late they got fined. Not to mention he rarely paid them for rehearsals and there were times they had to wait weeks to get paid after gigs, so he went through a lot of musicians. But that was James!

If you are watching this now and want to learn more about why he was in Zaire in 1974, look for the documentary film "When We Were Kings"! I saw him in a concert in the early 1970s in Germany and have been a fan ever since! (Good Lord, I am THAT old!) He was the best... truly the Godfather of so many artists that followed him!

If I was ever granted access to a time machine, there's no question where I'd choose to go. This concert. To see this performance even just on video leaves me breathless and in complete awe. JB was otherworldly powerful, a man with so much talent there aren't adequate words for the level he was on. All of us were blessed to live at the time in history where we were able to witness this man and his incredible band.

James Brown was a great performer! He started at the start of the concert at the beginning of the song doing the splits, getting down like only James Brown could dance! Wow!!! What an exciting concert right from the start! He was a great dancer and performer!!!

Yo I remember my first go at watching this ..my African people in Congo lost it when brothe James came to the stage. Even with the barriers of relative culture and language there was such a kindred spirit connection..... absolutely electrifying man
