I miss the sentiment of the 70s wher epeople were happy to be themselves and didn't mess with other people out of anger. There was a sense of everyone just getting over it all then... Vietnam, the counterculture movement that fractured society, all of it. Michael J /Hey bro, like the comment. From what I’ve heard James didn’t pay all that great. And some of the guys would get hit with all kinds of chickenshit fines. If they missed a note he thought should’ve been played or if they missed a count off or were a minute or two late they got fined. Not to mention he rarely paid them for rehearsals and there were times they had to wait weeks to get paid after gigs, so he went through a lot of musicians. But that was James!

In my albums in late 60s was a James Brown, Hot Pants along with Issac Hayes Hot Buttered Soul (I sing walk on by with a twist) ....along with Jackson 5...Barbara Streisand. Led Zepelin...hey. we grew up with top 40 radio. James was a peacemaker, I was a kid and remember him speaking on TV during during the riot from Martin Luther King's murder. He spoke peace.
