I wander if Natalie Wood remembers any bad looking people? Really let's face it James was a good actor but also a prick and if not for his charisma and looks (both are mostly inherited) then nobody would care. Yeah I guess he was looking for a father figure but probably found it every day in the arms of some guy or girl and esp. in Natalie. Another great person who just happens to be good looking. We want racial bias to end ? It won't and look bias or intelligence bias know no end. It's inborn in everyone except a very few or when you get older you might just be a women who goes with the money bias. Of course James was fascinated with the respect he was getting.

Jacque & Alexis; Tastes differ, but I can't argue that Natalie was prettier than Elizabeth Taylor. I feel the same....But watch Elizabeth and Paul Newman in "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof", and tell me Liz was not beautiful as well. She did not age well..Due largely, I figure to large quantities of alcohol and drugs, but in her day, Elizabeth was a beauty. For an older Elizabeth, you might check out "The Sandpiper" with Liz & Richard Burton. Up to that point Liz had aged relatively well. All that being said, If I gotta pick one, I'd always go with Natalie, so no real argument with either of you. We 3 all have excellent taste :)

At a young age she wasn't so good looking, actually she looked like a girl next door. Dean outshines her in that movie. She wasn't gorgeous, in my opinion. Elizabeth Taylor is also far way from gorgeous. Claudia Cardinale beats them both.

@@jasondavis6890 "Hate on." How cliche. Natalie Wood was certainly known as a great beauty, but not in any way a 'great' actress. She was almost completely incapable of showing emotion, even something as simple as crying. Everything was either forced hysteria or nothing at all. I will say however that she was good, or good enough when it came to comedy, which can be very difficult. And if I'm in the minority, then please provide a link to the 50 greatest actresses of all time...I'll wait.

James Dean, in the movie East of Eden, ad-libbed the scene when he confronted his father. The actor who played his father was a true professional and has said he just let Dean go for it. The director decided to leave the scene in the movie as it was taped. It showed the raw emotion Dean had about his own father.

@@waynej2608 I don't know about that. The script doesn't have alot of depth. It's more representational than anything. Basically an example of what teenagers were to be viewed as, moving forward. His other films are alot better, acting wise.

@@thelegendofthem6120 I think he nailed it, in all three. I just feel that his singular performance in Rebel, in his best. It captures his funk perfectly. The scenes with his parents, when he's on the stairs. Intense. His idea of wearing that red jacket, with his jeans, was iconic, for the time and shows the insight he had for Jim Stark. His romantic scenes with Natalie, innocent, sensitive, were more convincing than with Harris in East of Eden. And how great is the scene with Mineo, where he gives him his jacket. Inspired. Rebel...may not have been the best film of the three, EOE and Giant are arguably better, but I feel Dean's acting in the Nick Ray film, edges out his fine work in the other two. I realize this is subjective, so I this is just my 2 cents. And, 'it's tearing me apart'! Lol. 😎

I love all the characters on Rebel without a Cause, my connection with this movie is so strong, you see yourself in the characters. Natalie was so lovable and beautiful. I always love to watch her.
