My son passed away January 24 2017 from metastasized esophageal cancer. He left this song for us to be found after he passed. Always so very thoughtful.

My darling daughter Jenny died of cancer in 2017, aged 19. She asked for this to be shown at her funeral. It breaks my heart. The added irony is that the business that she and I set up together is a yarn based business. The image of a mama trying to stop her child slipping away is so very beautifully depicted here x

However many times I watch this I always end up crying buckets. I'm convinced that this time, THIS TIME it won't get me I won't break down this time. This time wasn't that time. It's a very obvious pull on our emotions but so fuffing beautiful. EVERY SINGLE TIME! I don't believe in rebirth connections like this but it's a beautiful idea and a beautiful video. Next time I won't cry!

The day my Nanna passed (30.12.14) I didn't know until later that night a friend was in the same hospital in the opposite ward giving birth. Two days later I was shown this video. It made me feel better about the whole thing. On the 30th, the first anniversary of her loss I was still really struggling. That same afternoon I received a text message telling me another beautiful baby was born. I'd like to believe they are both beautiful reminders to keep moving on.

My dad passed away exactly five years ago the day I first stumbled across this video and song on 7/19. I was floored. It reminded me so much of that last day, when he was rushed to the hospital with his life literally dripping out of him (GI bleed complications from pancreatic cancer) - they had given him a transfusion so I could take the first flight out to say goodbye one last time. I remember feeling so powerless, like the loved one in the video, as the last hours of his life unfurled, knowing there was nothing that could be done to stop him from bleeding out. The video's meditation on the interconnectedness of life and death is heartbreaking but beautiful - I don't believe in reincarnation in a literal sense - but it is comforting somehow to remember we are all a part of an unending and interwoven whole, the fibers of the fabric of existence.
