"I'm gonna give it back to him. It's his knife anyway. " James is a true gentleman.

James is the real deal. Before you start with mouthing him you should attend one of his classes. He trains special forces and is a true bad ass. Just go touch him and you will find out the hard way.. I have been to his seminars and they are something special.

Sensei Williams, how does one -- how did you -- learn about human anatomy to be applied in your martial arts work? As I begin my Aiki HeiHo education, practitions seems have an MD or DO's understanding of human anatomy that would be helpful on a variety of levers; we actually have a medical college - MCW - in Milwaukee, but Medical Schools are notorious for their admissions rates/prices, and I don' think they allow University Special to audit their Med School A&P classes (It'd likely be very expensive for me if they did). Without prying into your background, and I think I'm a year or 2 away from wanting to sit down and invest in learning it, but I seems to be a part of the learning curve every Aiki Heiho practitioner must go through at some point. Can you give my some guidance as to when (how far along in my career) and where (audit a Med School A&P class? Audit a Tech College/Junior College Nursing or Phy Ed major A&P class?) I should try to gain the knowledge? It's kind of a deep learning curve, and could be an expensive one, so I'd like so advice about it, if you're willing, and I can think of no one better to ask that you

what if attacker uses a short knife and articulates the wrist as soon as you lift your arm? why not just pin the knife hand with your - in this case - right hand?
@SystemOfStrategy
@SystemOfStrategy 6 жыл бұрын
The hand does not work nearly as well as the arm. I can defeat the hand relatively easily. The arm raised trap is deceptively tight, there is no room to move the knife or arm.

Looks legit. My only issue is that from what ive seen, most people who hold you hostage in the moment with a knife got the edge real close to your neck uncomfortably, whilst you both will be movin around. Ive never killed or been in war so i only say these things from s observant perspective, but isnt it likely if someones already got their knife to your throat in such a manner tend to kill you anyway?

This move doesn't seem practical to me. The trap doesn't look effective or powerful enough to stop the attackers full strength and momentum, of which the end result is bleeding out very quickly.

@@charlesmartel6941 Thats a fallacy sir! You dont have to present a better technique. Thats like someone showing how to fly by jumping out of plane and then flapping the arms. There is no better way but a parachute. You know what i mean? Respectfully Joe

It's from Daito Ryu (A style of Jujutsu). Just to be clear it's not BJJ, it's the original Jujutsu.

He's got a pretty extensive martial background even within japanese martial arts and Nami ryu is a synthesis of his most influential teachings. His major influence is Yoshida ha Shidare Yanagi ryu. The lineage goes Yoshida Kotaro -->Yoshida Kenji -->Donald Angier--> James Williams. A thing to remember is that Yoshida Kotaro was a very high level student of Takeda Sokaku, who taught Daito Ryu jujutsu and was the teacher of Ueshiba Morihei.

my tactic for blade defense is to ask democrats to ban knives

@@-CrampedStyle- Wrong. Weapons are directly related to weapons rights issues, which is political. He raises a good point. Democrats (and others...) see gun crime, and then want to ban guns. Yet they see knife crime, and don't ban knives. Hypocrisy rots this world... Actually, lately they've been trying to do that to! Making it tough to buy large kitchen knives in other 1st world nations etc. Yet, I've still seen a person buy one at a store, after all the hurdles and restrictions and "safety precautions," and then use the damn thing to bloody deadly on people (including the cashier who sold it!). See ActiveSelfProtection channel if you don't believe me. Yet another slow clap for the anti-weapons crowd and their tyrannical weapons control laws... I think you're a just butt hurt Democrat who got triggered.
