He also played his daughter in that movie - Why is anybody's guess - Also Eddie Murphy played his entire family in The Nutty Professor remake. Also in that terrible (In the best way possible) 90s version of Captain America, Caps girlfriend before he gets frozen plays her daughter in the future.

I think of Rise as the Original Timeline, what really happened that set up the original Planet of the Apes. While Conquest is more like an alternate timeline due to Taylors appearance altering things and the apes going back in time.

If so, Caesar's name would eventually have to be changed to Aldo since he was the one who started the revolution by saying "No" in the originals.

I'd like to think of it that way too, but it doesn't really line up because Charlton Heston and his crew were obviously from a more futuristic Earth than the Earth that gets wiped of humans at the end of 'Rise'.

Man, Beneath always seems to be that one that people either love or hate, usually, it seems, they hate. To me, it's always been my favorite of the original string of sequels. I really like the mutants, who scared the hell out of me as a kid, and the entire climax, it has an ending with serious balls. Of all the sequels and re-makes I think it feels the most like the original.

Aww. Kinda disappointing that he didn't like "Beneath." The dark, hopeless tone was really interesting to me and the ending of everyone dying was like....damn. the only rating I disagree with is beneath. I actually love that one. I love how it goes in deeper (quite literally) into what the earth is like. I love how just truly uneasy you feel with the mutants and their religion of worshiping a nuclear bomb and the ending, while depressing, was a great warning on what could happen if we aren't careful. I get why some people might not like it. but to me, a strong 4 apes.

Personally I would have given Dawn at least 4.5 - 5 apes. It doesn't quite live up to the original but the apes are given so much depth and can make you feel overwhelming amounts of emotion in long stretches of minimal to no dialogue with the only thing keeping you going is the character performances. The only thing holding it back from the original is in my opinion is the expositional dialogue and maybe the fact that the humans never feel quite as fleshed out as the apes. I've heard War pretty much fixes those issues though so I can't wait to see it.

My theory on the Wahlberg movie ending: 1) When Wahlberg's ship appears to go forward in time, it is really going backward in time. I think he says something about the instruments not working when this happens. 2) They arrive on Earth in the distant past so they dont recognize it. 3) Because of their actions, history is changed such that the apes develop society instead of the humans (maybe the apes, having to confront the reality of the humans as more intelligent, are more aggressive in putting them down).. 4) Wahlberg then goes back to the future (although he thinks he is going to the past) and returns to a changed Earth.

Christian Bale was too weak of a Batman for that to be the best rebooted series. The villains made those movies, and it really should have an emphasis on the internal conflict Batman feels if it wants to go as dark and realistic as it tried. But it didn't, and probably no fault of Bale's, moreso of the writing and directing. On topic, probably yes, best rebooted series. Mad Max was good too for a pure action flick.

3rd Rated I was thinking the exact same thing. Now, I do see comments saying he actually does like modern films and that may be true, however, he will NEVER rate a modern film higher than an older film. He thought the original Godzilla was better than Godzilla(2014). I've seen both and in my opinion the original is not better. He thought the original POTA was better than the reboot series. Dawn alone was better than the original.

The second one was a little stale but could have been better by just finding a better way of doing the bomb/escape thing. It was a bit too vague and bizarre. Something that's a little more plausible in an otherwise improbable story... but it is Sci-Fi. Another thing, if time codes are checked in all 5 films then at some point Taylor is going to crash land again.

Im not a fan of the film because chimps kinda freak me out. But I could listen you talk about anything. I love your voice and your point of view on things.

I hope you get to cover both TV Shows. The Live action one is technically part of the Movie Canon, it just takes place 100's of years earlier.

For me conquest is the best of the original series, but War is my favorite of them all and I see the three new ones as prequels to the original series.
