Whitney coming along ,, looking good James ,, never drove a White 7000 but pushed one across the floor of the house many a mile in my younger days ,, had a couple of the Winross Diecast Rigs ,, the early mid 70s were cast after a few of the White Trucks , the 7000 being one of them , mine were from and done up in the livery of the old HOWARD JOHNSON'S Restaurant chain ,, Safe Travel's on the road and in the air 👍👍👍👍

The chromed elbow adds a little class to the old girl….of the tractors in your fleet, this and the Marmon grabs my attention the most, followed closely by “Truck X” due to knowing how sharp that rig was years ago. Most of these old Whites were regarded as “Kleenex Trucks”, as in used up and thrown away. Glad to see one being lavished somewhat with some care….old Small Cam sounds snappy.

That went good except for those pesky wasps. Looks a lot better with new stack on top. That’s good news Johnny is coming back. I’m thinking that the electrical is gonna be rough on both of those trucks. Hopefully I’m wrong. A more modern suspension and axles will make that much easier to work on and maybe you can get rid of the Dayton wheels. Whitney sure does run good I think I’d wire in a battery disconnect till you get the wiring straightened out or unhook the batteries when you aren’t working on it. That might be a pain in the backside working on that positive ground system. That cab tilting thing will just take a bit to figure out. Stay safe

I did put the disconnect in recently. I’m going to convert back to negative ground most likely. Not sure on the cutoff really I do like the look of daytons

@@JamesPretty Well the Daytons have a look all their own. I’m pretty sure you can get tubeless rims to replace those lock ring style. Those will at least be easier to work on and maintain. Also not sure how to convert it back to negative ground. I’m sure someone somewhere has the information to do that. I’m thinking you’re probably going to end up rewiring the whole truck in the end to get it fixed. Gonna be a lot of work. Maybe Don will have some ideas how to go after it. He seems to know a lot on that stuff.

Hi James, I really enjoy watching all of your videos, I have a 1981 Kenworth K100 aerodyne with a 8V92 435 horse and a Allison trans. I am a retired railroader and my family has all been truckdrivers but after i got out of the service i went a different way. I heard you say on this video and and i have also been told that my truck is also a positive ground, I don't know much about that, any cautions i need to watch for? I have added some extra lights but wired them in on a seperate circuit. And i know this is a long way from you but on marketplace in Fort Collins Colorado the is a 1979 CL9000 with no engine and a nice complete cab for 1500.00.

I never was a fan of PB Blaster. I started out using CRC because you could get it in a bulk container and fill your own spray bottle. The other day, my brother gave me a can of WD Professional and that stuff works really great, really fast. Im sure glad to see you getting Whitney(the japanese freightliner) ready to rock and roll. When I was first out of the service, I used to drive for a family that had a contract to deliver new trucks for White out of Cleveland, Ohio factory, and thats what I mostly got dispatched on(Whitneys cousins). Trying to tell a wasp what to do? James, you need to expand your understanding of wasps and bees. For wasps and bees, the only males are those that fertilize the queen and with bees, those that maintain the interior of the hive. For wasps and bees, those that leave the nest to forage or defend the hive or nest are all females. Now do you understand why they don't listen to you? 🤣 Now if you tell that to Jessica, you might find yourself living in one of your trucks. As for killing wasp nests, yes, I know that all wasps are beneficial, just like bees. But if there is a wasp nest in an area where I am working or worse, a yellow jacket nest in my yard, I'm going to spray it with insecticide. I've been stung enough. I've not encountered a honey bee hive and if I did, for that I would call a professional who can remove and relocate the hive. Nice to hear that Johnny is coming back. Hope that does not mean that his other job went bust. I agree, make the White 7000 a show piece. Keep it as original as you can as there are not that many remaining.

I can see this truck with a modern disc brake and suspension mabe even a tri drive and a good RGN for moving trucks you rescue or sell get them blacked out lights in the bumper that look real smart i bet it would be the only one on the road air suspension front end something unique like a big ktta in it or a V8 you guys dont like the big v8 much but a big Cat v8 with some good power would be cool hell expensive but badass none the less
