Definitely agree that the touch has to be used with great caution. In many countries, unless it’s between friends, it would be seen as inappropriate and invading one’s personal space. When in doubt, avoid it, it is safer that way.

The eye contact became apparent to me after I have caught people staring at me for a really long time, and I remember thinking it was aggressive, rude, as if they didn’t like me (it was a family member at a family gathering.) They were just staring at me and even gave a slight up and down look until I said “why are you staring at me?” Then they looked away without saying anything 😅. I did just ignore the behaviour but made a note to self never to stare at someone in that way during a conversation.

Yes I watched a video and Janine Driver look her up speaks about body language. When you’re at a interview or date always sit 30 percent to the their side not directly in front of them it’s much more effective to make people ease towards you and when you sit pop your elbow and it can show confidence. Always steeple your hands too it’s a good movement when you need attention on you.

Thanks so much for this! I definitely will blend these points into my social skills! The idea of words of confirmation is a really excellent one . I would be extremely alarmed if someone other than my SO touched me even slightly. Private borders differentiate greatly from person to person and some can hug colleagues when some don't do it even with relatives cause it's not their cup of tea and I know a lot of such people. So not only cultural differences but see how a person deals themselves with physical touch and if it's clear it's not their language don't speak in the language of touches with them, you'll freak them out.
