This kid is amazing! I have known his Dad since 9th grade. We played guitar with different bands and traded licks for years! Now Marcus kicks both me and his dad's butt on guitar! I heard him sing and was blown away a second time when he was just 17 years old! I am black and have played in many bands and made a living at it and still do as a full time music teacher who plays 8 instruments. Marcus plays and sings with more soul than ANY of the black R&B and blues players that I performed with over the years. So glad to see that he is starting to get the attention that he deserves. He gets better every time I listen. Rock on Marcus!

I was able to hang out with Marcus and his dad when they played in Kalamazoo a few months back and they're both just super solid dudes on top of being brilliant musicians. His dad definitely helps to make sure he stays humble when it's so easy for kids his age to get a big head. I can't wait for him to come back around in a couple months.
