To me, this version sounds way more punchier than the original in the best possible way - it feels familiar, but yet ever so slightly different enough to make it feel super refreshing. Bravo! 💜

It's something I come back to and gnaw on for a while like a dog with an old bone. But I haven't got it yet. For one thing, a lot of it happens during the crescendo, so it's hard to hear clearly and for another I'm trying to do it on electric guitar. It may not even be possible on that instrument. I don’t know when I’ll ever get around to posting a walkthrough, but I can tell you that with this particular track, the sounds don’t require much tweaking on the boards themselves, really just external EQ to adjust the tones to taste. @@jonsheltmire Thanks for the reply! I play the nylon patch with dexed and to me it sounds too bell like. In the original and your version that sound has much more body, it sounds more percussive if that's the right way to describe it. Could be a production issue, but playing the patch as is doesn't give me a satisfactory result.

Hey Juan, one of these days I have GOT to start making videos of my process. I'll labor over tweaking these things for days on end and then once it's finally where I think it should be (or I just finally give up), I move on and never look back - usually forgetting exactly what I did. And for this track, I uploaded and deleted a couple of versions before I settled on this one. To answer your question, the picture does not show what settings were used. I took a screenshot of it, but there's no way for me to add it here. I can tell you that I took out the flanger and just had DX-7 (Portasound guitar), then the Rockman, then Valhalla Supermassive Reverb. I've included presets from three of the Arturia instruments that I used in this track: CMI-V, DX-7V, and the Jupiter 8. For the Jupiter-8, play with the rate knob at the right of the arpeggiator to make that rolling bass do the trills. For the DX-7, the nylon preset is pretty much good to go, but I did add some reverb and used an equalizer to bump up the 3k frequency so it sounds a little more like Jan's.
