Jane Relf had such a lovely voice. I have owned "Out the Mist" by Illusion for over 40 years.

Look on Wikipedia for Renaissance, that explains the beginnings.Later Jim McCarty,Keith & Jane Relf,John Hawken & Louis Cennamo formed another band but while still rehearsing Keith died from an electric shock at home. The others decided to try and carry on & formed a band with John Knightsbridge & drummer Eddie McNeil. They made 2 albums with Island Records, this live recording was made at the BBC studio in Lower Regent Street.I was their roadie.Naff BBC d/i box made Mellotron cut out at the end.

Wow, a blast from the past, I had this album and completely forgot about it for around 50 years of so. Got goosebumps now listening, and weirdly, I can still sing along to the lyrics!

Such a Stunning Babe & I mean that w/all Respect. Thank you for your time Collecting (I presume) Y'birds', related (I met Graham Gouldman at 10CC's SF Show on the last night of the 1st Tour in "47 Years"- a little slim on Members of 10CC- however, he's the Gent who'd brought The Bongos 'n the Blues together, so- & I think they would've been 3 of a lot better Songs if dealt with seriously all around), Renaissance, Armageddon (any collection of Demos out there- of the Relf/Cennamo Group & Illusion's 3 LPs/CDs/Sessions by any/all w/Stairway included as well as British Lions (w/John Knightsbridge's work,eg), any good Jane Relf Work avble as well as that Artist who'd done the 2nd Renaissance LP Cover Art (& a 7" maybe?- it's the same Artist who'd done that sole 'Time Wanderer' w/Relfs/ McCarty>>others & Haslam, et al- that Cover Art & more like it would be of interest as well as Box Of Frogs' Live, McCarty & Pals, etc. Mainly - Thanks for your appreciation of Great 🎼 & keeping it Alive, 'IN The Mist' & so on is very much appreciated.

What a wealth of talent UKmusic had...Would you like to give us the history of this band...

I love this band! Although I like Renaissance, I always felt like this group had more of an edge. The orchestrated, longer format prog doesn't always work to me. This is powerful stuff just like The Who's Tommy. Every time I hear a song I want more.

What's the relation between Candles Are Burning and Ashes are Burning, if any?

+tobytanzer None. Two entirely different sets of writers.

My draft was just erased after it kept going to the 'store'/'pause' position! Not a good time but it doesn't need to be vocalized or typed out to explain how much it affects me getting to share things like Out of the Mist' & 'Madonna Blue', 'Enchanted Caress' w/friends who should have -age wise- been trying to open my eyes to. At least I was lucky enough to tell Jim McCarty how much I loved those Renaissance & Illusion, Stairway chapters . It's happening again so bye.

I love this material as I respond to my previous gibberish. I found a recent Louis Cennamo Interview on Ytube! It's over an hour so I highly recommend it. Jimmy had "No idea" how to get in touch with Louis back in the earlier 2000s: '03/'05/'07(±)?-_?_ during a Y'birds' Tour- with Chris or McCarty on his own w/ a Band (Idan, et al) . Problems arose.

they DID make it. They fact that they never sold as many records as the beatles or Eric Clapton attests to their music being rather difficult to hum or be accessable by the average person without effort or serious musical training. It is not addition or subtraction. It is Advanced algebra or Calculas......or Calculus
