I always wished she made a video for "He Doesn't Even Know That I'm Alive" from her control album, I pictured something like a Grease theme like Summer Nights, or You're The One That I Want for the song and it's like a dream versus reality about a man she really wants but he doesn't notice her or behaves like that as a front to get her to make the move, or annitiate as such as it's her in control all the way.

@@kBENY8661 Well let's see what you do so we can compare? I see all the qualities of fantastic choreography here. “The Knowledge” is one of the social statements on Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814. It addresses the importance of education (in different ways) and it goes with the album’s title track, as well as “State of the World” and “Livin' In a World (They Didn’t Make It)” as the “social commentary” part of the record.

The fact this was released in 89/90 and it's still ahead of it's time almost 30 yrs plus later over 3 decades later like dang. Janet and whoever helped with the knowledge song in general and especially rhythm nation the song specifically then eventually the whole album ...saw their needed to be change and their still does need to be change. Janet was definitely ahead of her time and still is especially when discussing racial issues in music. #janetjacksonappreciation #justiceforjanetjackson #welovejanet #gettheknowledge
@davidhoward6254
@davidhoward6254 2 жыл бұрын
Soooo...credit for the 'whoever helped with the knowledge song in general' as well as for the whole album goes squarely to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, the same dynamic duo who produced her 'Control' album. In the mid-'80s they were an unstoppable song writing and producing pair and worked not only with Janet but with New Edition (listen to the whole 'Heartbreak' album) in helping all of these young performers find their 'voice'. All of the songs on the first side of 'Rhythm Nation' are semi-dystopian in that they portray a world that requires change, but the first song on side B of the album/cassette is 'Alright', a full-bore dance-floor banger that seems to release the anxiety of the 'A' side of the album. Jam and Lewis were the masters of these great story telling albums. If you listen to 'Heartbreak' from start to finish, it's the struggle of young men trying to grow up in the entertainment industry. If you listen to the "Hearsay' album by Alexander O'Neal, it is your standard adult house-party with lots of energy at the beginning of the evening, people talking about people, and then people starting to pair-off towards the end. Get yourself some Jam and Lewis 'knowledge' and you'll have more strong songs than you know what to do with that sound just as fresh and relevant today as they did back in the '80s, '90s, 2000s and beyond!

Iconic. Timeless. It sounds as fresh today as it did in 1989! Rhythm Nation remains one my favorite Janet albums. Can’t wait for the Black Diamond album to drop!

Janet does and is so much more than POP. Even though, One would expect for a Or the Queen of POP to be able to slay a stage like Janet, but she can't.

Janet Jackson has always had what it takes to be a successful artist now I see what it takes to make it because of songs like this The Devil's Battles Grounds hit called The Knowledge . when I stop going to school at one point in my life this song made my black ass go back and get my high school diploma . Can't wait for this to premiere. Loved the message of the song. Loved the hand movements, and the jumping and the pow and the landing on your knees on the beat. And the ending was so good how you landed if ppl havent seen this just wait for it. Loved the part where Janet goes...Prejudice NO, Ignorance NO, bigotry nooo illiteracy nooo count 1,2,3,4. Also i agree would love to see the whole discography uploaded to KZbin. Including the full version of miss you much where theirs an extended cut version where after Janet goes that's the end and then they say no and do a chair dance.

Rhythm Nation; one of the most underrated albums of all time. One of the best albums of all time. (The first album I ever bought... I was 6 years old when it came out and begged my dad to buy it for me)
