why is having curly hair so COMPLICATED
@iamnotmyhandle5 жыл бұрын
Because it is a privilege.
@roxanne19515 жыл бұрын
Because there are so many different types of curly hair. Because without all the complicated processes most of us just have a fuzzy mess with no curl definition. Because curly hair basically sucks. I grew up up in the 60s before all the curly hair products.

@@godblessamericamyhomesweet1094 I take it you don't have curly hair. Well...if us curly girls can survive being shamed about our "wild and crazy" curls and living in a world that for decades has promoted straight hair as the beauty standard, then you'll be okay.
@godblessamericamyhomesweet10945 жыл бұрын
@@iamnotmyhandle Um, it was a compliment, sorry. My hair is so curly and living in the south with 100+ temps and what feels like 1000% humidity, I had long given up on it and have spent the last decade in a pony tail. In the last 2 weeks I've been watching these videos and actually TRYING to make my hair look like less of a frizzy mess, only to be met at the front door with torrential rain and a literal sauna outside. I think you know how depressing that can be. On top of that, the Aveda products I finally tried turned my hair to straw, and the deva curl after that turned it into grease. Now I have a greasy straw disaster going on, which makes the tropical storm we lived with just the cherry on top of a horrendous start to "bettering" my hair. Having to sit through work looking like a wet hay bail isnt exactly a fun life experiencr. When you said "Its a privilege" it was a compliment and made me feel like I need to stop being such a curmudgeon and keep trying, and hopeful that ONE day maybe something will work, and I will be able to actually wear my hair down for the first time without the use of a straightener. Hopefully your situation is better. God bless.

I am a couple months into CG Method and that's EXACTLY the cross roads I was at - I know the WHATS and I've been doing them for a bit - but knowing more about why you do what you do so you can see when that certain step is or isn't necessary - is so important! I feel like this helped me with exactly what you hoped it would - just gain a big of control over my own experience. When you're still learning you pretty much just do what others have done and hope it works - now that I have a good baseline I feel like I can change small things to see the good or bad results for MY hair. Thanks a bunch :)

Sometimes i feel overwhelmed doing research on what best suits my hair, using minimal products. Love the curls btw!

I put my curly hair in a t-shirt so it doesn’t get touched. Wait till it’s about 50% dry put product in. then back in the shirt again till about 25% dry. I am going to get a Keratin Treatment today. I have 2 jobs and just want to wash and wear, my daughter loves her curls but can't achieve the curl you have. Now I know she probably needs a protein and other hair stuff. Thank you! My boss just asked me why I don't leave my hair natural (curly, but I flat iron)? Great video! Two questions: 1: do you have to use a shampoo/low poo to take out Olaplex? Won’t a cowash work? 2: how did you apply a gel to 50% dry hair? Did you went the hair or your hands first? Whenever I’ve tried something similar (smasters for example) my hair kind of sticks to the gel and it’s like a glue feeling and then it’s really stringy after it dries.

omg thank you so much I always have trouble with my hair its frizzy, dry, and course, doesmt retain moisture for more than a day and always try new things and whenever I go to a hair stylist they always just try to sell me stuff instead of explaining.

Had to comment when I saw your absolutely fabulous Bulldog. I have 2 now and have had a total of 6 of these guys. Your video really helped me. A lot of good insights. Things that I will put to use myself. Thanks and give the bully a hug for me. So beautiful! You too.=)

It's a little thing, but I really do want to educate all the overseas curlies who use "Aussie" products. It's pronounced "Ozzie", rather than "Ossie". Petty, I know. Love the video though.

Ooo I've been saying Ossie for ages@

Yay! Yes it’s definitely said like OZZIE lol

my hair confuses me, it goes slightly wavy when wet but once it’s dry and look like just frizzy slightly curved straight hair, only 3 or 2 really thin strands of my hair will hold the wave when dry.

By accident, I found channels on hair in general. Yours is the fifth one I'm watching because I'm stunned : the number of views, the production of these videos...I'm thinking about my business, my employees, my children, my friends and family and I'm asking myself : I'm such a lazy person, how could I have achieved this if I had spent so much time and money devising strategies to improve my hair. Yes, your hair have nice curls, but your face is as beautiful after as it was before. So much energy and intelligence to work on something that doesn't help you to be happier, to have better relationships, to be kinder, to be smarter, to be bolder, to feel that you are enough... Frankly, I don't get it. I gave you a thumb up because this is so much work!

The beauty industry is a billion dollar industry & social media IS the future of marketing. FYI. As a business owner thats information you may wish to be aware of. Ironic that you are criticizing educational videos created to help others and also provide an income to their creators while preaching "to be kinder." Funny, the advice we give others is typically the advice we need the most........

I am 24 and had corkscrew curls when i was little. That changed because i used Pantene Pro V, brushed my hair etc. after my mum stopped washing my hair. I straightened my hair chemically for years now and think i want to get them back.

Lmao your hair at the beginning when you basically called it crusty and frizzy is my hair on a daily 😂 And personally I like the dragged though a hedge look bc I’ve just been going with it for the past 20 years, kinda wish I knew how to style it but it’s effort lmao
@JannelleOShaughnessy6 жыл бұрын
Lol hope you don’t take it bad. I actually like my hair like that on occasion and wear it around for a few days. The negative side is that for me it does mean my hair is dry and thirsty as hell 😂
@TMBAmie6 жыл бұрын
Jannelle O'Shaughnessy Engels Oh yeah no I get that my hair is always dry and thirsty as hell, I just don’t really know how to make it not like that aha your hair looks lovely both ways though!!

So glad I found you! No clue what you're talking about, mostly....I was probably off chasing a puppy when God was handing out the girly genes. I'm clueless about hair but want to learn. I find you very personable. I subscribed and look forward to going through your videos to learn!
