Yesterday, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited Arlington National Cemetery and participated in a wreath ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Kishida was escorted by U.S. Army Military District of Washington Commanding General Maj. Gen. Trevor J. Bredenkamp.

@@zachm2331the Vietnam soldier was identified. At the request of the soldiers family he was removed in 1998. He is home with his family.

​@Laakona My Uncle was at Pearl Harbor and lived through it , I had an uncle that was in Korea, got killed in an automobile accident in Virginia while on leave. Had other uncle's that served in Korea and Vietnam and they made it home. I was in the US Navy on the USS NASSAU LHA-4. I mourn with you Laakona. Our Shipmates, fellow Marines and Soldiers, Airmen and Coastguards men ( As well as all of the Rosie's and Nurses and other Women that did their part and in some cases paid the ultimate sacrifice. Related or not , They are ALL FAMILY.

@@veteranpatriot4474 I served in the Army, Army Reserve, Massachusetts Army National Guard, Hawaii Army National Guard, US Navy Reserve, and the US Navy. May 1973 to May 2009. My last deployment was with Task Force Troy, a counter IED unit with Navy EOD in Tikrit Iraq. I was 56 when I came home to Pearl Harbor, 07-07-2007. I didn't do it for the money.

Thanks to U.S. military, the President, and our government for creating and conducting the ceremony supporting Japanese Prime Minister Kishida's respectful and gracious honoring our Unknown Soldiers lost in battle, including losses during WWII against Japan.

i know the greatest unit in American history 442nd Infantry Regiment Japanese Americans would be proud of what happened, Showing due respect to them and the achievements, sacrifices and known as the most decorated unit in America to this day.

The PM placed the wreath at the front of the Monument. On the opposite side are the 3 stones that mark the burial sites of the 3 Unknowns.

I was once in hampshire and I saw a German platoon marching down the road in Petersfield, I was so shocked. This was probably 30 years ago. One can not underestimate the importance of such even after many decades. The Militarism of Japan and Germany in those dark days is akin to Trumpism today. We need America to be free.
