To be fair, a lot of Spider-Man costumes of this era had the narrow lenses on the mask. The Electric Company Spider-Man costume kind of looks like this! The lenses on Nicholas Hammond's CBS Spidey suit (1977) were round and had tiny holes poked through him so that the actor and stuntmen could see out.

Into the Spider-Verse 2 has been officially named Across The Spider-Verse and it's said to be released next year. Hope they don't reduce him into a cameo, though.

We know that Japanese Spider-Man is returning in Across The Spider-Verse, so it would be awesome if they tracked down the actor and had him reprise the role as a voice actor with subtitles in the NA release. Nostalgia for the fans of that show!
