@@MohamedSamir-lm3cn I didnt buy it but in the shop the hinge was a bit lose for my liking. for 3D programs any gaming pc would do tbh, but if you want do some pro work screen color accuracy might help you find choose the best pc for you.

To anyone still upgrading these, a tip for prying the bottom panel without a tool: slightly push the corner of a plastic card into the rear exhaust grill and lever the back of the panel up, it should snap off easily, giving you plenty of space to slide the card under the panel and pop the other sides. I've left a couple of scratches on the bottom and the side of my laptop trying to pry it from the front without a proper tool before figuring this out, don't repeat my mistake.

One more thing, take care of plastic clips on side. They tend to break easily. Don't ask me how I know that.

The same thing happened when I opened my Gigabyte Aero 17 for the first time. I used Krazy glue to reattach the clip and it's been fine ever since. I've taken the back panel off probably 2 dozen times over the past year and the repaired clip is holding strong.

If your taking upgrading so far, please remove the factory cooling paste and reapply it yourself. In my unit I found out these vram cooling pads were totally misaligned and the cooling paste on cpu and gpu could also be largely improved. Seems to me like a no brainer to do when opening up the machine.

@@Tumsaddict you most likely know your computer has normal RAM, feeding your Computing Processing Unit (CPU) with data. vRAM is the same thing, only then to feed your Graphical Processor Unit (GPU) with data, the ‘v’ in vRAM stands for video. vRAM can get hot running GPU intensive applications, that’s why there are cooling pads on top of them connecting them with your heat sink to provide some cooling.

Hello fellow netizens. Im very happy to share that i have successfully upgraded the 60hz omen display to 144 hz one. I had to find 40 pin cable as the 60hz one has 30 pin. I have already upgraded everything shown in Jarrod's video. The display is lgdo5fe. 6.4 ms in mprt test. I sourced every part from a service personnel who works at HP. Display and cable cost me 4250 rupees or 58 dollars.

@@nishthagupta1357 i also upgraded the motherboard or is should say replaced it. My config was r5 1660ti and higher tier variant has same cooling and charger so i salvaged a ryzen 7 rtx 3060 motherboard and replaced it. Rtx 3060 is monster.

Great video. Are you having same issues with graphics cards drivers? Last time HP released one was July 2020 on their gaming series... If I use one from Nvidia or Amd I get only 2 hours battery life since the dedicated GPU does not get suspended. Not sure what's the solution here. Being stuck on unoptimized drivers or having crap battery performance?

Hi, I bought the HP Omen 15 couple of weeks ago. It has a 500 GB SSD installed and has another m.2 slot free. I have partitioned that drive into similar sized disks ~(160 gigs) C, D and E... I was thinking of additional storage to the laptop but I'm confused about how I should do it. I have two questions regarding it: 1) Today I read that it isn't advisable to partition SSDs and that Windows C drive should be kept in a separate SSD drive for optimal performance. Is there any truth in that? Should I delete the partitions I created ? 2) If I am going to add storage, should I add a 256 GB just for the C drive (this is in relation to what I said in Q1) or should I wait and get a 500 GB few months later ?(if there's no truth in partitioning leading to issues) Before I got this laptop, I had the same desktop for almost 10 years. In that one, I had Windows installed on a 320 GB HDD with no separate partitions and I added 2TBs of HDD storage for media and other stuff few years later. I know the more storage, the better it is. But I'm very very confused. This device cost a good sum of money and I want to do what's best for it. If I get It would be of great help if anyone could please advise me on how I should do it. Hey Jarrod, I have the same laptop and upgraded to two 32GB RipJaws RAM sticks, but there was a problem, the screen wouldn't turn on. After some troubleshooting I found that the BIOS was the problem, I updated to V16 and it worked. However, recently I discovered another issues, where tha laptop would restart when I started pushing the RAM. I believe it is due to insufficient power from the power supply( 200W one). Have you encountered anything like that and do you think a more recent bios version and/or a more powerful power supply would fix that?

I got the 2020 model 2 weeks ago. I'm really hoping it looks similar to the 2020 model (like 2019 looks similar to 2018) so that resale value is good 11 months from now.
