Robert Keeton Are you special or just ignorant? The 4G63 had set and broken world records because it's known to take a shit. It's because it's a brick shit house from the factory. People have been in the 9's at over 600hp with a stock bottom end. When they're built it's only the limits of you wallet and what parts you could afford. There's been plenty 4G63s at and over 1,000hp.

LOL ^^ DSM fangirls. Ask most any 4g owner... Go on the Evo forums. They break easily. The transfer cases break commonly. Hence why you never see Evos launch hard. While the 4g is a great motor, and they are banging gears to get into the 7s which is sick, but they are not known for reliability. LOL They can take up to 600hp on a stock block, but for a iron block that's not very impressive, when you see Hondas aluminum F20/f22 can take up to 800whp on a stock block. Like I said, its a great powerful engine, but it's not known for its reliability.

That Car Guy 1. Nice ad hominem right off the bat to prove the following "information" is all uneducated . 2. DSMs & Evo.; two COMPLETELY & entirely different vehciles. 3. What does drive trains parts on Evo.s have to do with the 4G63? Besides they're broken from a lot of power. 4. You're a little behind. 4G63 powered vehicles have been into the 6's since the early 2000's! :thumbsup: 5. Do you know why DSMs aren't known to be reliable? Broke ass people (namely kids), buy them and use them to go fast without maintaining or preforming preventative maintenance. That and they don't know what they're doing a lot of times. Look at my channel for proof as I fix other people's screw ups. 6. ...you've completely missed the point of a stock bottom end. A stock bottom end consists of OEM crank, rods, pistons, bearings and fasteners. We're not talking Honduh talk where the block is stock with built internals rather than an aftermarket block. Reason being? They essentially do not exist. I'm going to ignore your Honduh comment for obvious reasons. I'm also going to disregard your millionth "reliability" claim because you aren't even sure what you're talking about; DSMs, Evo.s, DSM records, Evo. records, 4G63 records...and so on and so forth. Do a little digging next time, Honduh "fangirl".

If you're talking about the sound at 0:06-0:07 then that is the open dump pipe. Which is directly related to the wastegate as .j. said. But in this case, the open dump creates the sound characteristic that you are hearing.

They are VENTS. Sold as VENTS, called VENTS..... If they were what you thought, they wouldn't be called vents. Why are they vents you might ask? So when you're on the track and you're not allowed /don't want to have your windows open, you don't die inside your car from heat exhaustion. You can cap them off when it's cool or raining, which would then reduce unnecessary drag.

Tim Vernak First car? Well depends how deep your pockets are, I'd get a Miata because they are more reliable. However, if you got the money got for the FD Rx7, they are cool but require a special amount of maintenance, for a couple of reasons. #1 The way the rotary engine is built, they literally eat oil as they inject small bits of it into the engine for lubrication. #2 I forgot what I was going to say, you probably get my though.
