Words cannot describe my feelings about this young man. His ability was above and beyond all in his realm. Had he remained healthy, he would have been without peer. His story makes me realize how blessed I really am, but at the same time how the wrath of fate can be so cruel. We were denied the majic of one of the best ever to pick up the six strings. But his will...his will to continue without self pity. He is a giant among men and a reminder, a reminder to never take anything for granted. Jason Becker the guitar player...I revere. Jason Becker the man....I adore, respect and love.
@X3000Chan6 жыл бұрын
Vizron Creative Media Yes but, his ability is still among those in his realm, for sure. He's one of the healthiest people alive with ALS, and one of the longest living, being not only alive, but thriving, almost 30 years after his diagnosis. I don't think Jason needs anyone's pity, but I'm sure he'd love your support. His newest album, Triumphant Hearts, is coming out now, and from the songs I've heard so far, it's incredible. But I'm not surprised. That's Jason Becker; An incredible inspiration of what the human being can achieve when they put their mind and their soul and their focus into something and don't let go no matter what. I'm so glad he's alive and on this earth and I can't wait to get Triumphant Hearts.🌎💛

Hi Folks. This is Dan, Jason's long-time keyboardist and coproducer/engineer. (2:08). A couple of clarifications: The first song is "Showtime", a DLR song co-written by Jason. The second song at 2:08 is Primal, from Jason's album "Perspective". The crunchy guitar chords there are one of the last things Jason ever played on guitar. Although Steve Perry does appear on the song doing a kind of chant in the middle, the lead vocal is actually Raz Kennedy, though yes he does sound a lot like Steve!

In ‘86 I can remember watching Jason and Marty Friedman playing as “Cacophony” at the NAMM Show in Anaheim. Standing 3 feet from Jason in a small room I could see what a massively talented and mind blowing guitarist he was. Looking back I was so fortunate to see him at the beginning of his climb to the top of modern rock guitar. God bless you Jason always.

I just found Jason Becker. And he is an inspiration to me. I am 32, legally blind, have arthritis, as well as bronchiactisis. I have laid concrete, been a landscaper, was a commercial transport mechanic for 10 years, have been a musician for just over 10 years, and am working on my degree in counselling. I plan on starting my own practice, and use music to influence my work. Never give up on a dream, unless you have found a better one to follow!

The doors were blasted open then and now are basically the starting point of new generation guitarists, making those few much more advanced at their age now than we were when we started with , Hendrix, Django R, whatever your taste was at your starting point.
