I completely agree. Jason is impressive in the depth and clarity of his reviews while still being relatively short. He also invested in equipment, like that needed to properly view the AC sine wave output. Something that other reviewers had not done but are following his lead. (Competition is good).

The AC inverter is a plus with 2200 watts a great surge capacity. The PDP 3.1 support is also nice. It begins to fall really short when compared to other power stations in this range is that it has virtually no DC support or solar charging at the base price. Having to buy and carry "dongles" just to use features that are included with even sub $200 power stations isn't a very good option at least for me. I know that the fast charging of DJI drone batteries even faster than using standard AC can be a huge plus for those that use a lot of DJI drones and batteries, but those "dongles" are not included in the base price either. I love that beefy DC supply!!

DJI made some interesting design decisions with this one. I feel that it is perfect for filming professionals, the traditional DJI model of accessorizing doesn’t work well for all in one power stations. I added the solar controllers, but it no longer fits in the box with them attached.

That's a nice long look, but the pricing information needs to include at least one solar charge controller, PLUS associated adapters to connect to panels; i.e. what most power stations already include. What does that do to the final price?
@Jasonoid

Yeah, the bundles with the 'extra' items raise the price a bit. It's definitely not perfect for everyone. People that don't care about solar would be the ones getting the best pricing haha

Great, great job on testing this unit. Of all the reviews I had seen on other channels, this is definitely the best review. Love all the DC ports and capalitites it has as I have 12V fans, fridges, lights, and my cpaps that I run using dc when camping or hunting. The deal breaker for me is the price and then having to pay additional for the accessories required to solar charge it or to just daisy chain one of my EcoFlow batteries to expand its capacity. Great unit though, nonetheless. But if I was in the market for another unit I would probably go with the Pecron 1500. Thank you for sharing.

Excellent presentation. Thank you. I have had/have an issue with these ports that will both input/output. If I need to "charge" a smaller device from a larger device and both have bi-directional ports, they can not seem to figure out if they need to be in-putting or out-putting energy and they fail. In order to charge the smaller device, I have to use a "bigger device" that has a port that will only output (not bi-directional). Initially I thought bi-directional ports would be the greatest ever, now I realize that, for me, they suck. Not sure if anyone else has run into this, but I now avoid them when I can. Probably worth mentioning so that people can understand this beforehand.
@Jasonoid
@Jasonoid Ай бұрын
Are you speaking of the USBc ports? Yes, USBc protocol does have a little bit to work out if you have two bidirectional ports. It has a hard time deciding what should charge or discharge. The USBc ports on this unit are only output ports.
@markmonroe7330
@markmonroe7330 Ай бұрын
@@Jasonoid Yes, USB-C ports. Trying to get one to charge via the other using them basically wont work as best I can tell. As such, I am ultra paranoid of "bi-directional charging ports" of any kind at this point. That said, no reviewer that I know of has discussed the issue with these. At this point, I avoid any unit with bi-directional charging ports.

I love that APL20 fridge! I would be EXTREMELY interested to see how long all your power stations can run it for. The low wattage and long run time would be an insightful comparison between models. Everyone is running those load cells for 1-2hrs but NO ONE is testing freezer run times and let’s be real, most of us are running camping freezers with our portable stations. My theory is anker F1500 will outperform a Delta 2 Max.

Thanks for the good review. I get a kick out of how the manufacturers price their units. This one has a list price of $999 with a "huge" 5% discount making it $949. That's over 92 cents per watt hour. IMO no one including myself would pay that there days. Then there's the big $400 off!. Wow now we have $549 or a little over 53 cents per watt hour. So my point is why doesn't the manufacturer just offer the unit at $549 to begin with instead of trying to make gullible customers believe they are getting a huge discount?

Not to be a party pooper, but no build in mppt controller immediately disqualifies it for me. App connectivity would be nice, but since this model doesn’t want to be competitive, it’s a whatever. Inverter surge sounds wonderful until we put it in context of practical usability A 10amp load (1260 watt) runs for only 48 minutes A 15qmp load (1850 watt) runs for 32 minutes In the absence of proper solar charging and expansion battery, the battery capacity is simply too small to get me exited about surge capacity. Need a 2kwh model for it to matter. As an extra I to the market I can forgive DJI but their next round of power stations needs to become competitive. DJI battery fast charging is hardly a sales argument. You are likely better off with more batteries anyway.
